Hip-Hop | HIP-HOP | Carlos St. John Mixtape “In Association”

Posted by on December 27, 2010

Carlos’ team dropped this off a few days ago saying it was an xmas gift for everyone. Take a little Wyclef twang and mix it in with some solid verses and you’ll end up with Carlos St. John. Below are some solid cuts off his mixtape “In Association” – I’m really feeling this “Who Else But Me” track. You can get the full mixtape off his official website and be sure to follow him on Twitter for timely updates.

Electro | INDIE ELECTRO POP | Atypicals and Breakbot

Posted by on December 22, 2010

At times our music world seems over run by computer generated sounds that leave little room for raw talent. The purists throw fits while the enthusiasts encourage the growth and development of new sounds, genres, sub-genres, etc. I fall somewhere in the middle, which is why the “Atypicals” piqued my interest. My iTunes library has been long overdue for a new group that utilizes learned instrumental talents to create their works – Ryan Leslie like artists if you will. This Brooklyn based group sports three members who can put on impressive live “band” performances that somehow bring a house dance sound to their speakers. If you’re searching for something refreshingly new, give these guys an ear and be sure to leave your opinion in the comments section of chatbox. For more information check out their Facebook, Twitter or group website.

I live through my iPhone so I found the video above particularly amusing (late on this vid too…). Everyone is always telling about the next best thing (see: Sprint, yes SPRINT HTC) and how its a huge improvement on apples little cash crop. You know what I say to that, don’t talk about the birth just show me the baby. And no one ever does…. funny…

Here are some solid Rap/Hip Hop jams. Goone sent us this steaming track “Take Me Away” – if it makes your ears as happy as mine you can find more music and information at his website and twitter. Sorry about the R Kelly track, I couldn’t resist.

Hip-Hop | Chris Webby- Lowering The Bar Part 2

Hide your kids hide your wife. I love the smell of controversy in the morning. I particularly enjoyed Christian’s “ninjas” on his Facebook page. Listen bro, let me tell you what to do. First, you need to fire your management. You can’t get any placement on any website that truly matters. They don’t represent your talent fully. Secondly, I know you’re likely inquiring as to why I wrote the article. I don’t hate you personally. Frankly, I’ve never even met you. Physically threatening me only proves my point though. Thanks for saving my fingers the work. What I will do, however, is keep you accountable. I’m sorry I hurt your feelings calling it like I see it. How’s riding around in that Altima working out for you? I’d love to write more, but I’m late for my tee time. TFM.

A few months ago FNT attended a modeling shoot in an NYC penthouse for the high society and high fashion tee shirt line from Eighties Babies USA (for all you teenie bopper groupies, it’s co-owned by Sam Adams). Alex Stern, Nick Corona, and Sam Adams all went in on some HAWT pics that showcase the various tees on the site quite nicely. Of course, there’s also a line for all you female fans out there. Naturally, none of the 100+ pictures taken of Nick made the cut for the official site; apparently Stern let him do the shots as a formality. If you’re looking for some handsome and affordable apparel, head over to the official website. While supplies last, the high quality sophomore line of tees, v-necks, and tanks can be purchased for a mere $26 a piece. Be sure to check out our two favorite shirts, the Family Label V-Neck and the Tengo Hambre Tank.
