House | ‘A Night In Tulum’ A House Experience By Funk D And Waldo Simply Not To Be Missed

Posted by on May 11, 2021

Funk D and Waldo are clearly a force to be reckoned with, as their latest house venture, “A Night In Tulum,” clearly shows off. Signed to successful Mexico based label XDM Records, the energy on this one was inevitably too good to pass on where it’s no surprises this track got picked up by a proper imprint. Trippy synthwork and class-act rhythmic percussion come together all in one outstanding experience to form a club-energy that takes the cake.

Although the captivation and overall creation would not be possible without the combination of Waldo and Funk D working together, Funk D, in particular, has a unique story to tell.

Funk D is also Mexico based and has acclaimed many achievements only a few can say are there’s. From performing alongside, (and taking pictures with,) the one and only Hardwell, to performing in over a dozen countries around the world, the multi-million streamed artist has a well-rounded balance of moments that make him a catch. Reaping the fruits of his labor, few can do like Funk D can.

Support for his music has come from some of the best in the music biz, David Guetta, Martin Garrix and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike just to name a few. Sharing a discography that goes back as far as 2012, Funk D has put blood, sweat, and tears into this project with no sign of slowing down.

The state of Michigan makes a strong habit of producing some of the most influential musicians on the planet. Whatever it is that Michigoneans  are doing to inspire artists to experiment with new, weird sounds and ideas, it’s definitely working and Waldo and Sango drink from that same pool. The Grand Rapids duo habitually create new inspiring music under the Soulcolection label . Yesterday, to help promote their L.A. + S.F. shows, Waldo dropped a revised version of “Kobe’s Song”, check that and the original version out below.

Hip-Hop, Rap | Waldo – Kobe’s Room (Truth Be Told)

Produced by Sango himself, this was bound to be a fresh new track. I’ve been keeping up with Waldo ever since I discovered him back before the new year – his popularity is steadily increasing, which I’m happy to see, but I’m even happier about the collab EP that Waldo & Sango just recently dropped, NSDE/OUTSDE. The project is dense with a flow and unrelenting heat that compliments Waldo’s delivery and establishes him as a force to be reckoned with. From the commandeering of his midwest flow to the confidence of his staccato, “he presents the production with intense imagery and a spirit of adventurousness that perfects the latest trend of experimentalism on the rise in hip-hop as Michigan continues its quiet reign” ( NSDE/OUTSDE features appearances from JOOSE and The SEVENth while Marvel Alexander and Mr. Carmack provide the assist on production. ‘Kobe’s Room’ is featured 4th on the NSDE, but with both sides having equally all good tracks, this is definitely something that you guys will want to check out, ya know what I’m sayin? :p
