Progressive House | Hook N Sling & Nervo – Reason (Vicetone Remix)
Posted by Middy on January 4, 2013
Vicetone follow up their breakout 2012 campaign with a great start to 2013, hitting another yet another social media milestone of 50k Facebook fans and with that another free track. This time they take on “Reason” from Aussies Nervo & Hook N Sling, taking a decidedly different approach from the rather aggressive official remix package, building off of the original and adding their illustrious big room sound that would translate so well to an arena or festival space. It is crazy to see how quickly these guys have blown up, but when you listen to how good, clean and precise their productions are, you can’t be that surprised.

Progressive House | Vicetone – Harmony

In their first Beatport release, Vicetone brings their high octane progressive house sound the highly prolific Monstercat Recordings that has garnered an almost cult like following and a reputation of catching artists before they make a name for themselves. The track gives you everything you expect from Vicetone with a driving synth progression and blends it with an orchestral arrangement that sounds like it would in a pre-battle scene of a medieval war movie. It is crazy how far these guys have come from July of this year and they show no signs of stopping. 2013 should be a huge year for these guys as they continue to put out great tracks.

Progressive House | Vicetone – Twenty

In celebration of hitting 20k fans on Facebook (I feel like had 100 just yesterday), Vicetone is giving away their new single “Twenty”. “Twenty” is a grand departure from their last works that seemed to rely a lot on the same melodic structure and takes a tougher approach to the track, while still remaining true to their progressive roots. The track uses well layered melodies with a grinding electro drop to give a change of pace in what is fast becoming a prosperous discography.
Progressive House | Youngblood Hawke – We Come Running (Vicetone Remix)

It is crazy how far Vicetone has come in so little time. It was only back in July that they were just getting their start and were an unknown quantity, and now several releases and remixes later, one of them supported by Nicky Romero, Vicetone have cemented themselves as a name to watch. Their impeccable production quality was apparent from day 1, though their ability and creativity as producers has increased dramatically since then. The vocals on this track from Youngblood Hawke are outstanding, truly one of the better indie vocal bits I have heard in a while, and then Vicetone puts their magic on the track adding a synth line similar to that of their “Sparks” remix, though with noticeable differences in the melody.
Progressive House | Morgan Page feat. Lissie – The Longest Road (Vicetone 2012 Remix)
Posted by Middy on September 27, 2012
Dutch duo, Vicetone follow up their Nicky Romero supported remix of “Sparks“, and their remixing talents across the Atlantic to take on Morgan Page’s “The Longest Road”. Morgan Page uses this vocal all the time in his sets for bootlegging purposes, so you may be familiar with Lissie’s stellar voice. Vicetone take Morgan Page’s instrumentation to another level. They keep much of the relaxed feel of the original, while adding a nuanced big room approach to the drop that does not overwhelm and lets the subtleties of the melody and vocals shine.
DJ-Set, Progressive House | Fedde Le Grand & Nicky Romero feat. Matthew Koma – Sparks (Vicetone Remix)
Posted by Middy on September 16, 2012
While I think there was inherently unique and outstanding about the original, the Vicetone treatment on “Sparks” does not water down the prowess of the original work from Fedde Le Grand & Nicky Romero. Vicetone effectively eliminates Fedde Le Grand’s techy influence from the original and adds their own progressive spin on the track giving it more of a big room feel, endowing the track with a new melody. The remix has been supported by Nicky Romero and was played last night on Protocol Radio, which features Zedd trolling on the phone. Tracklist after the jump.
