Vicetone have attached their energetic progressive sound to female vocals, like those of Nervo’s in remixes, but not yet in an original. With their return to their label, Protocol Recordings, they tab LA based singer Chloe Angelides to lay down some angelic vocals over their hard hitting, yet melodic instrumental. It has been almost 2 years since they released their first tune and it is wild to think how far they have come. To try and predict what is to come in the next two would be a fools errand.

The Dutch phenoms are back with another massive single. I hate to sound like a broken record with these guys, but with the precision, melodic prowess and power are all on full display once again here as they make their debut on Spinnin’ Records, giving the label a much needed respite from pitched hardstyle kicks and minimal drops. If you are headed to Ultra, get ready to hear their collab with Nicky Romero almost surely as a world premiere. It should be incredible. Just today they announced the dates for their “Lowdown” US tour this spring hitting NYC, LA, Montreal, Boston and most importantly, Ultra. See the full dates after the jump.

Looking for the next bandwagon to hop on? Well here it is. Italian duo, Alessandro Miselli & Simone Pioltelli or Lush & Simon are set to become the next big-room stars. I compare what I see happening to them in the next year, to what just happened to Vicetone, it is coming. Their remixes are both melodic and powerful, bringing out the best of the originals, while putting their own big-room touch on the tracks.
They have already seen support from the likes of Tiesto, Nicky Romero, Hardwell, Bingo Players, Thomas Gold, Deniz Koyu and more. These two are only getting started and before you know it, your favorite DJs will be playing their tracks out and they may be playing at your favorite venue. With the power of both of their fan bases, Symphonica “Legacy” soared right up to the top of the Beatport charts and stayed their for quite some time. However, the original seemed like left over parts from “Symphonica“, with great vocals from Krewella put on top. It needed remixes badly. In step Vicetone, who need no introduction anymore with their powerful, driving melodies. They apply this to “Legacy”, giving it the originality and stamina it needed.

Electro-House | Maddix – Touching the Sky

Usually when I sift through my inbox, it is generic press emails, decent to pretty bad music or a ridiculous email from The Chainsmokers (heart hands), and after a while I just get audio fatigue trying to manage it. However, when I come across something like this, like when I first heard Vicetone, or Stephen Swartz or Moiez, I knew I there was real talent. Dutchman Pablo Rindt or Maddix has been in the producing game now for a few years, mainly doing DJ-ready bootlegs and the occasional remix, but to be honest nothing that noteworthy, until now.
However, coming from that country where electronic music talent is as common as their cloudy days (hence why they flee to the French Riveria in the summer), it is not surprising that he would be able to hone his craft over the past year, culminating in this outstanding original. The track borders along the lines of melodic and electro, blending them together at once, with high-octane breaks and soothing interludes. What makes this even better is that it is free and there is more coming from Maddix. The free download includes the more DJ-friendly original mix. Do yourself the favor and grab it now.

It has been 363 days since I first posted their first ever releases — a batch of remixes for Adele, Flo Rida and Calvin Harris. Now they are circling the world, playing festivals and getting a release on Protocol Recordings. Vicetone are for real and have been since day one. “Tremble” is vintage Vicetone, with powerful synth chords, and an emotive string-led build, all wrapped into a well-produced track, as always that shows just how polished these guys are. On the heels of their Electric Zoo MainStage announcement, Vicetone release their hotly anticipated remix of Nervo’s recent single “Hold On“, originally previewed last month in Nervo’s radio show, Nervo Nation. The Dutch duo have seen a meteoric rise to fame in the past year with their crisp and powerful remixes, while adding a few choice originals to the bunch.
This remix is no exception, as the Protocol Records signees bring yet another potent melodic composition, with a guitar driven build, taking full advantage of Nervo’s vocals, and a short but punchy drop, that is sure to seep into sets this summer. It is great to see them getting noticed in a big way by DJs, first Nicky Romero and now Nervo, tabbing them for this remix. Look out for them touring North American this summer, some of the dates have already been announced on their Facebook page.
