Progressive House | Arias – Deepfield
Posted by Middy on June 7, 2014
It is remarkable what Arias has been able to put together in these past two years. Tunes like “Majoris”, “Andromeda” and “Solar” are all one of a kind incredible and you can add his first single of 2014, “Deepfield” to that mix as well. The first vocal track from the Parian in a MINUTE, Arias brings that signature big progressive sound that s found in so few records today. Even bigger for Arias is his record on Size Records, “Footsteps” with Greg Ceronne, which Steve Angello has been playing heavily ever since Ultra. Watch out for the renaissance of Arias.

I know I’m usually late to the party, but I had no clue Mariah Carey had a new single, nor that Fedde Le Grand remixed it, but somehow “You’re Mine (Eternal)” Fedde Le Grand’s remix managed to make it to my ears, and I’m glad it did. Ultranauts (those who were at Ultra music festival) can you confirm if this track was played at Ultra? I can only imagine this tune hitting the spot in a festival setting, heck, it’s hitting the spot in my headphones at my desk! No doubt about it this is a must listen!

Events, Progressive House | Vicetone – Lowdown + US Tour Dates
Posted by Middy on February 12, 2014
The Dutch phenoms are back with another massive single. I hate to sound like a broken record with these guys, but with the precision, melodic prowess and power are all on full display once again here as they make their debut on Spinnin’ Records, giving the label a much needed respite from pitched hardstyle kicks and minimal drops. If you are headed to Ultra, get ready to hear their collab with Nicky Romero almost surely as a world premiere. It should be incredible. Just today they announced the dates for their “Lowdown” US tour this spring hitting NYC, LA, Montreal, Boston and most importantly, Ultra. See the full dates after the jump.

The New York City duo that is Solidisco is sitting on top of the world, with their first official single off Ultra Records “Top Of The World” featuring vocals from legendary disco/funk band Skyy, which will be released Friday January 25th. To show you how these 2 are bringing disco music back, this is Skyy’s first musical contribution in over 20 years! I’m feeling this vibe, it makes me want to get the disco ball out and go funk out. This is a must listen and make sure you purchase that new single on Friday, support great music!
Dubstep | SomeKindaWonderful – Police (Vanic Remix)
Posted by Middy on December 5, 2013
Vancouver based dubstep producer, Vanic takes Cleveland band, SomeKindaWonderful’s “Police” and adds some dubstep heat to it. Vanic has become a very deft remixer thus far in his career, having taken on an official remix for Topher Jones on Ultra, and a host of other outstanding unofficial efforts. Generally dubstep this heavy does not tickle my fancy, but the slight reggae influences and the strong melodic feel, make this palatable for all music tastes. Vanic has proved himself as a remixer, but we hope to see more originals from him. You might just be seeing one sooner than you might know….
