Events | Full Lineup Revealed for Badlands Music Festival
Posted by Mel on June 9, 2014
Western Canada has kept up with the rise of EDM with a number of high profile shows and events over the past few years and Badlands Music Festival has been among those leading the way. Kaskade, Afrojack and Steve Aoki helped inaugurate the event last year and with this years lineup now fully revealed, it’s sure to be a good time once again. Dada Life, Duck Sauce, The Bloody Beetroots and Borgore are just a few of those on the lineup. In addition to those headliners, they are also many other great artists such as GTA and, as always, my tight, tight bros, The Chainsmokers. If you would like to know how Drew and Alex seduce women or their thoughts on glory holes, then check out the interview I did with them. If you are in Calgary on July 4th to the 6th and enjoy dance music, then join me at Badlands. Full lineup in the video above and go here to buy tickets.
Events | Rusko To Headline Bounce Boat on 5/30
Posted by Middy on May 15, 2014
After kicking off the season with The Chainsmokers on a rainy April night, Bounce Boat looks forward towards a busy summer post-memorial day with a decidedly heavier lineup, headlined by Rusko. Also on board will be Infuze and Subset so don’t expect any rest for those ears as the dubstep onslaught will be relentless all night. Kirill Was Here will be there to document it all, so expect to see some ta tas. The Chainsmokers drunkenly shouted that they wanted to sink the boat, well with this bass on the 30th, they may just take it down. Same deal as last time. Boarding begins at 6:30, departure scheduled for 8pm and return at midnight to pier 40. It is 18+ and grab your tickets here.

Progressive House | Lincoln Jesser x Elephante – A Trillion Somethings Right
Posted by Mel on April 25, 2014
Elephante has been on a roll over the past few months with the play total of almost every song he releases going well over 100k within a few weeks. His rise has been quite similar to that of my deep, deep bros, The Chainsmokers, which says a lot. After his exceptionally well done “Next To You” remix, a song that was a favorite of mine for a week or so before I kind of stopped listening to it because that’s just how little staying power most (good) progressive house tracks have these days, he has reworked an old original he made titled “Trillion” around the superb vocals of Lincoln Jesser and his track “Something Right”. It, like all his stuff these days, is great.

Electro | The Chainsmokers – #SELFIE (Robot Dentist Bootleg Remix)

The Chainsmokers track #Selfie seems to be everywhere these days. Yet, we are only now starting to find some insane remixes that have risen above the surface. As usual, Robot Dentist delivered. His remix takes the original in a darker direction, filled with heavy bass lines, festival trap synths, and all around vibing beats. Robot Dentist continues to impress me with his ability to transcend genres, and really put on a lot of hats with the production game. I know he has tons of music up his sleeve for this summer. So, buckle the F**K UP! Enjoy the free download! This is a must listen and a must download!

Electro, Trap | The Chainsmokers – #Selfie (Tim Gunter Remix)
Posted by dshaq on April 8, 2014
Instead of taking a selfie, you should be listening to this remix of it by Tim Gunter. Tim shows off his versatility by completely stripping it down and adding a hip hop/trap sound to it that hits hard with a great drop. Here’s what Tim had to say about the track:
“I started messing with this song because the DJ in me wanted to play it, but I could never find a good time to play the original. So, I slowed it down, added those signature 808s, and made it more of a #HOODSELFIE. After showing it to a few friends, they really liked it so I decided to let it out.”
Get this one ready for the weekend and holler at the song below.
