Preview, Progressive House | Rune RK ft. Andreas Moe – Teacup (Michael Brun Remix) [Preview]
Posted by Middy on January 10, 2013
Michael Brun finished out 2012 riding a massive tidal wave of success from his “Burn Forever” remix and “Rift” charting well and getting support far and wide across the Dj community. He enters 2013 looking to stay on top of that tidal crest of success and this latest remix of “Teacup” using vocals from Andreas Moe, who you may recognize from John de Sohn’s “Long Time”, looks to set him up nicely. Look for this to be released January 22nd on Spinnin Records.
Electro-House | Keane – Sovereign Light Café (Afrojack Remix)
Posted by Middy on December 24, 2012
With Alesso remixing Keane’s very successful single “Silenced By The Night” to rave reviews, it was only a matter of time before another big name producer got their hands on a Keane track and made it their own. Afrojack slowly builds with a slow easy piano and the outstanding vocals from lead singer Tom Chaplin and then adds a blistering drop of pitched synths and a fast moving bass line. On the heals of his chart topping single “Annie’s Theme” and his upcoming remix for one billion youtube views “Gangnam Style”, as well as hosting a huge Jacked event on Pier 94 to ring in the New Year, Afrojack is continuing to assert his worldwide dominance on dance music.
Progressive House | Fedde Le Grand – RAW

Fedde Le Grand never disappoints with incredibly varied and unique productions and coming off of the heals of a wide array of collaborations with Nicky Romero & Deniz Koyu among others, the Dutch Star presents his follow up solo effort to “So Much Love” just in time for Christmas. “RAW” keeps with the same style of chugging bass lines that we are accustomed to seeing in most other Fedde Le Grand originals, while adding a fast moving Daft Punkesque top line and gruff undertones, making this a perfect club track to finish out the year.

Progressive House | Basto – Stormchaser

Basto has been quietly putting together a very good 2012 with such successful tracks like “I Rave You” and “Bonny” that have shown the evolution of his sound from a more piano driven producer to bringing in a harder, driving electro style to his tracks. Basto brings a unique sound to this track luring you in with a big room build and then hits you with a driving, festival friendly drop of percussion and pitched synths. It fascinating to see how the Belgian producer has evolved his sound and it will be worth keeping an eye on as he makes moves into 2013.

Electro-House | Julian Jordan & Martin Garrix – BFAM

The two budding Dutch producers, who’s combined age on looks would have trouble getting into an American bar, certainly don’t lack talent, notably with Julian Jordan putting out some solid remixes this year and “Kangaroo” being a huge single. “BFAM” or “Brother From Another Mother”, is a testament to their long friendship as the track combines soothing interludes with a chugging, grinding electro drop. The support for this track is already flying in from all over, so be sure to watch out for this song and for these guys in the not so distant future.

Electro-House | Afrojack – Annie’s Theme

While some may not like the bleeps and bloops of this track, this brings us back to Afrojack’s productions reminiscent of “Replica” and “Doing It Right”. It may not have the same flare of some of those older tracks that helped catapult him to the superstar status that he now basks in, but the onslaught of bleeps and fine tuned synth play brings us back to Afrojack’s dutch productions of old and may hold the key for what is in store for the future.
