Events | All Mixed Up: Sebastian Ingrosso, Alesso & Otto Knows NYC Halloween Weekend
Posted by Middy on August 21, 2012
After putting out a mysterious cube with their names on it and a second that clearly said Pier 94 and possibly Nassau Colosseum with the pretext of a Halloween show, we can now put all of the pieces together. Sebsastian Ingrosso, Alesso and Otto Knows will be playing both Pier 94 and Nassau Colosseum, being dubbed “The Haunted Colosseum” for the occasion, on October 27th for Halloween weekend. This means that NYC will not only have the inaugural Sensation America, but also this event on the same weekend. Not entirely sure how they will get the artists back and forth from the venues and how the set times will work, but Refune is a professional bunch and they wouldn’t have done this without having all of the logistics figured out in advance. Presale tickets go on sale this Thursday, August 23rd at noon EST and the general sale is this Friday, August 24th at noon EST, which means there are these tickets to get, as well as Electric Adventure tickets with the aforementioned Alesso on Friday. More info on the allmixedup website.

DJ-Set, House | Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso Back-2-Back Essential Mix
Posted by Middy on August 12, 2012
The legendary Essential Mix takes us to Privilege Ibiza, the biggest club in the world as certified by the Guinness Book of World Records where Alesso & Sebastian Ingrosso played a 90 minute back 2 back set chock full of unreleased tracks like the Swedish House Mafia’s recently radio debuted track “Don’t You Worry Child“, Sebastian Ingrosso’s collab with Tommy Trash “Reload”, Steve Angello’s upcoming single “Lights” with fellow Size label mates Third Party and more. They go through an extensive selection of both of their recent discographies as well as some of the biggest tracks from the past several months, molding them together into seamless bootlegs. Host, Pete Tong started off the night with some purposeful, groovy tech, house and progressive with Italian legend, Benny Benassi closing out the night with one of his eclectic, high energy sets. Tracklists after the jump.

Preview, Progressive House | Keane – Silenced by the Night (Alesso Remix)
Posted by Spice on April 2, 2012
Let me just say: whoa. Whoa whoa whoa. Sebastian Ingrosso’s young protege serves up yet another piping hot dish of delicious, stadium-ready progressive house and even though I don’t normally like posting previews this one is too good to pass up. Alesso has been teasing this dazzling melodic gem for the past few weeks (he even dangled it right in front of us during his recent Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1), and now that a full preview is up on Soundcloud it seems pretty clear: this is going to be effing big.
Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, I have to admit that I currently have more questions than answers. How many times am I going to hear this song during the next six months? Will I get sick of it? Why can’t I embed a miniature Alesso into my head so that things like this can be piped directly into my brain at all times? And most importantly: Keane? Where have you been lately? The last time I listened to Keane, I’m pretty sure I was fourteen, being driven to the orthodontist, and sporting a first-gen iPod and a picture of Josh Hartnett in my binder cover. Whatever, we’ve all been there. Stay tuned for the release date and listen to this soon-to-be anthem below.
Progressive House | Leventina & Dinka – Chariots (Original Club Mix)
Posted by Middy on March 29, 2012
This collaboration between the distinguished Dinka and the laudable Leventina is something you don’t want to miss from label aptly named Enormous Tunes. The build hits you with moving synths with quick key work and a varying clap that starts a great rhythm for the track. The song crescendos into a break of pulsing pitched synths and driving electro house synths that show the influence of both artists. We have featured Leventina a few times before with singles such as “We’re Gonna Start” and “Blonds Have More Fun” with their melodic, hard hitting electro house style that is both unique and creative, and accessible to all. They are getting support from more and more big name Djs such as Tiesto, Hardwell, EDX, Morgan Page and more. Dinka is one of the great female Djs, with a command of many styles of house and growing fan base, she is one you need to follow. Check out her 3 track EP released earlier this month.

As a bonus here is a remix of Axwell & Sebastian Ingrosso feat. Michael Feiner – Together from Cat Skillz. It is a nice progressive house take on the track that rivals the ridiculous remix from Thand put out earlier this year.
DJ-Set, Events, Progressive House | Avicii LE7ELS # 006 + US Tour
Posted by Middy on March 27, 2012
Avicii has released the 6th episode of what was supposed to be his monthly “LE7ELS” podcast today after spending the last 3 months feverishly touring. He commences the podcast with his own half hour of handpicked tracks, starting with his highly anticipated collaboration with Nicky Romero “Nicktim” and then moving through tracks such as “Troll”, “Calling (Lose My Mind) and Eric Prydz sublime remix of Midnight City. For the throwback track for the podcast he chooses the classic Axwell track “Feel The Vibe” with its funky bass line and groovy melody. Avicii & his manager Ash talk about various things ranging from their House For Hunger Tour to his upcoming tour dates including his live tour he will be premiering at Coachella and using all summer. Sebastian Ingrosso takes over for the second half hour with hits from SHM such as “Antidote” & “Greyhound”, as well as playing Michael Brun’s widely supported progressive bomb “Rise” and his upcoming collaboration with Alesso & Steve Angelo “Ecplise (Why Am I Doing This?). Overall a very solid mix with a good balance of electro and progressive house and not surprisingly a strong presence of Swedish producers. Tracklist after the jump.
Also if you have not already, get tickets for Avicii’s arena tour this summer where he will be doing a live show that Avicii has been hyping a lot. More info including dates HERE.

Progressive House | Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso feat. Ryan Tedder – Calling (Lose My Mind)
Posted by Middy on February 29, 2012
The much anticipated vocal mix of the summer anthem “Calling” from the Swedish super stars Alesso and Sebastian Ingrosso has finally arrived. With vocals from One Republic’s Ryan Tedder, the song is taken to a whole new level of euphoria and makes this track that was seemingly perfect even better. Alesso & Seb have been playing this out for a little while now and since its radio play on Swedish House Mafia’s second takeover of BBC Radio One, the anticipation built to a fever pitch, but now with its release we can enjoy this gem and add yet another release to both of these producers great careers. This is only the start for these two this year with Alesso making me look smart at the beginning of the year previewing his massive single “Years“, as well as his collaboration with Steve Angello and Seb “Eclipse“. As always Seb has his work with SHM, and their upcoming single “Greyhound“, the aforementioned collaboration with Steve Angello & Alesso and as Refune label owner he will always remain in the spotlight. It is not available for purchase in US right now, but will be soon!
