Events | Eric Prydz Announces EPIC 2.0
Posted by Middy on August 16, 2013
He is back and possibly better than ever. Eric Prydz has announced EPIC, or Eric Prydz in Concert, 2.0, revamping his already mind-blowing setup into something bigger and better. Since he lives in North America, it is just here to start, but who knows where it could end up. He has already hinted at coming back to New York, where he blew the roof off of Roseland Ballroom twice over Thanksgiving. Just watch the visuals in the video, and you will know it is time to see EPIC.
Events | Electric Zoo Announces Full Lineup of Afterparties + Grounds Update
Posted by Middy on August 8, 2013
One of the big announcements for this year’s Electric Zoo was the addition of the second MainStage, which brought a lot of excitement at the new lineup possibilities, but also some questions as to where they would put it. Well now they have answered that question, with a map layout that puts the entrance near the Sunday School Groove Tent and the second MainStage opposite the 3 tent stages. I believe there won’t be an issue with noise bleeding, like there was at EDC NYC, but one issue may be with it getting very crowded walking along that path, especially at night and with inebriated festival-goers.
Made Event has teased a few afterparties in the past week or so, but now they have revealed all 14, bringing in Cielo and Output for a much more housey landscape. If you want to brave the crowds at Pacha, they have strong lineups, but if not, your more mainstream sounds will be championed by the bigger Roseland Ballroom, hosting the likes of Benassi, Dyro, The Machine, W&W and Deniz Koyu. Best Buy Theater will be your place for bass music with Flux and friends on Friday, Adventure Club and friends on Sunday and an intriguing show of Rudimental, Delta Heavy and Modeselektor on Saturday. If you are willing to make the hour-long commute to Brooklyn after the show for some house, Output is for you, with Dirtybird taking over in what will be one of the better afterparties, while Laurent Garnier takes over for a marathon solo set on Sunday, and Friday has a double-header at Output and Cielo. There is something for everyone at these afters that will allow you to keep the party going and get no sleep over Labor Day Weekend. Full schedule after the jump, and grab your tickets below. You can still grab tickets for the festival here.
Events | ATB Announces 4-City “ATB in Concert” American Tour this Fall

Trance powerhouse, ATB has amassed over his 15 year career, 8 studio albums and reputation for excellence, both in the live hemisphere and in his studio output. One of the main components that make him as a dance music artist unique is his “ATB in Concert”, which includes a live band of singers, keyboardists, guitarists, bassists and ATB himself on all sorts of instruments and percussions. It is bringing the raw, studio output to the viewer in the most organic way possible, and the tour rarely happens, so be sure to go see this, even if you have seen ATB 10 times. Tickets go on sale July 30th on his website here, and the first 20 ticket buyers will automatically win a meet-and-greet with ATB. Progressive House | Pryda – Layers
Posted by Middy on June 18, 2013
November 24th, 2012. It is 4:30am and me and 3 friends are in a cab coming back absolutely exhausted from Eric Prydz at Roseland Ballroom. He had played encore after encore well past his designated 4am finish slot. No one had the energy to make a sound except for my friend who was repeating this haunting bass line that was stuck in his head that night and for many to come. He has had shown off other huge singles since then, like “Power Drive“, but this track has always been the prize. With “Layers”, Prydz has yet another huge smash single, intricately weaving together spacey synths, elegant strings and a bass line that will get stuck in your head, you can’t escape it.

Electro | Pretty Lights NYE Recap – The Day Is Gone
Posted by Middy on March 15, 2013
It might be a little on the late side for a NYE recap, but when it comes to previewing a new song from Pretty Lights, you are always right on time. Pretty Lights takes the opportunity to show off the madness of what went down those two nights at Roseland Ballroom during his marathon sets and uses a vintage Pretty Lights track as a soundtrack for the entire thing. No word on when it will be released since he made it for his NYE shows, but you know one thing is for certain, it will be free.
Events, Review | Above & Beyond turn Roseland Ballroom into a Temple of Trance
Posted by Middy on February 22, 2013
It is said that Above & Beyond live creates an atmosphere much like that of a religious experience. Whether you are the person right up front wearing an Anjunabeats T-shirt, the girl on somebody’s shoulder making a heart hands and getting one back from Tony, or the guy dancing all the way in the back, Above & Beyond have a way to connect and touch every member of the audience on a deep, personal and emotional way that few other Djs can do. I credit Above & Beyond for helping take the full on plunge into dance music. It was not until I saw their club show at Glow DC two summers ago right after the release of Group Therapy, a show I almost did not get into due to issues with the overzealous bouncers, that I dove head first into this thing called dance music and eventually led me here at FNT.
