Less is more, quality over quantity — when Alesso strikes, he makes it count. In his first release of the year, the budding Swedish star remains silent no longer on what he has in store for us in the production front with this remix of One Republic’s “If I Lose Myself”. The remix is vintage Alesso with an easy piano driven build, letting Ryan Tedder’s vocals shine, and an outstanding melody in the break that reminds us why we love Alesso so much. This remix has the potential to be as big, if not bigger than his “Silenced By The Night” remix, so watch out for the April 2nd release on Refune Records.

No matter the side that you take on the Nicky Romero vs Alesso, Iron vs Clash debate, if you even take a side, we can all be happy that Alesso after premiering “Clash” in his Essential Mix back in March, has finally finished and released this track. What has been an incredibly successful year for the young Swede with tracks like “Years“, “Silenced By The Night” and “City Of Dreams“, there seems to be no bound to what he can do with the IDs he keeps on showcasing at shows. This track weaves together a blistering melody, a powerful bass line and growling low end to give this track its toughness. With even more great tracks coming down the production pipeline, we can enjoy this one for quite some time and expect 2013 to be even bigger for the rising superstar.

As first previewed by Refune label head Sebastian Ingrosso several months back on Refune Radio (when is the next one Ingrosso?), Arty is now set to unleash one of his many unreleased tracks on the world. This one sticks to the formula of blissful synths and soaring melodies that has made Arty a favorite of so many. Though many may not be satisfied until they have “Together We Are”, this track is definitely another gem from Arty that must be treasured. It is set to be released on November 23rd on the aforementioned Refune Records.

Despite Tommy Trash’s misleading Facebook post about the release date of “Reload”, we are finally able to get our hands on the finished product of this massive collaboration between Sebastian Ingrosso, who is probably popping bottles with the money he just made today and Tommy Trash. “Reload” combines the best of both worlds with these producers, giving us the grungy, playful, pitched synths that Tommy Trash has become known for, while Sebastian Ingrosso adds a euphoric topline over the growling swells that prevail during much of the track. This track was a big track at the end of the summer, despite not being released, so expect it to get much more airtime this fall with its official release.

After putting out a mysterious cube with their names on it and a second that clearly said Pier 94 and possibly Nassau Colosseum with the pretext of a Halloween show, we can now put all of the pieces together. Sebsastian Ingrosso, Alesso and Otto Knows will be playing both Pier 94 and Nassau Colosseum, being dubbed “The Haunted Colosseum” for the occasion, on October 27th for Halloween weekend. This means that NYC will not only have the inaugural Sensation America, but also this event on the same weekend. Not entirely sure how they will get the artists back and forth from the venues and how the set times will work, but Refune is a professional bunch and they wouldn’t have done this without having all of the logistics figured out in advance. Presale tickets go on sale this Thursday, August 23rd at noon EST and the general sale is this Friday, August 24th at noon EST, which means there are these tickets to get, as well as Electric Adventure tickets with the aforementioned Alesso on Friday. Happy Saturday everyone, “Years” is finally out. After hearing this played countless times on radio shows by Pete Tong, Sebastian Ingrosso and Swedish House Mafia and seeing the song evolve over the last several months, it is a relief to have this one finally be released. Matthew Koma has become one of the most in demand vocalist’s lately, with his vocal edit of “Sparks” and “Spectrum” already under his belt. Alesso delivers on a sublime piano melody with a complex snare based bass line to create this blissful festival sized track. Expect “Years” to get some heavy play the end of this summer as the dog days of August wind down and Fall approaches.

German rising star, Deniz Koyu or Mr. Tung has released the follow up to “Tung”. It has a similar sound to “Tung” with a similar synth sound and chord progression, but he is able to make it a unique enough song to keep the sound fresh and up to date in 2012 with the strong lead and a driving bass line with quick percussive elements. Just as “Tung” was a festival favorite and bootlegged by most of the top Djs, you can expect the same treatment from “Bong” out now on Refune Records.
