Electro | Mord Fustang – If You Want (Original Mix)
Posted by mimada on September 2, 2013

Mimada here, broadcasting to you live from Sweden for the next few months. After sorting out the internet situation abroad, I could not be MOAR excited to make my first return post about anyone but Mord Fustang. Throughout the entirety of my experience with Mord he has remained one of my all time favorite artists. His style, so engaging and vivacious, is really unlike anything else out there right now yet is consistent enough to never disappoint. His latest track, “If You Want,” has all the standard Mord Fustang characteristics (slow build, bubbly repetitive what-sounds-like vocals, epic and totally satisfying conclusion) but has subtle elements of experimentation (see: 2:25). As soon as I heard this, I seriously signed up for Beatport account just so I could download it (yes, I’m a little behind).
Mord Fustang is like your favorite flavor of ice cream that you love to overindulge in. And when you start to think you’ve had enough of it, he drops a track that’s the same flavor, just with a new topping. And it’s even better than before.
As we say our final goodbyes to summer, we raise our Klondike bars, Swirled froyo cones and Drumsticks to you, Mord.

Contests, House | Verve Remixed: The First Ladies (Incl. Kaskade, Pretty Lights, Flume & More) Vinyl Giveaway
Posted by Middy on August 26, 2013
Verve recently released a ridiculous remix package for their illustrious roster of female vocalists they have had over the years. The remixes include a wide variety of styles and genres, from deep house to progressive to dubstep, really giving these classics a modern dance music twist. The remix roster reads like an all-star festival lineup, with the likes of Flume, Kaskade, Pretty Lights, Bassnectar, Maya Jane Coles, RAC, Carnage & more, all taking their turns at these songs. If you did not grab this remix package, or want an upgrade in quality and style, we are giving away one red and black vinyl double LP, as you can see above. Even if you don’t have a record player, having records is the hip thing to do now, so you will want this.
To enter, you can either go to our Facebook page and “like” the post about this giveaway, or go to our twitter page and retweet our post. This is only available to those who live in the United States, sorry. Winner will be chosen this Thursday at 5pm. After the jump is the video for the Zed’s Dead remix.
If you aren’t a betting person, and I recommend you become one for this (it looks so cool), you can always buy it from Amazon, Beatport or iTunes.
Events | The Worst Lineup Conflicts At Electric Zoo – And How To Handle Them
Posted by Middy on August 22, 2013
Waiting for festival schedules to drop is always a funny thing. On the one hand, you’re antsy for set times because you want to start planning your weekend. On the other, you know that when the announcement comes it will invariably serve to confirm all your worst fears about lineup conflicts — terrible, unspeakable conflicts which will surely force you to choose between two or more of your favorite artists. Such conflicts have been known to divide friend groups, start arguments, and lead to tears. Okay, we’re being dramatic, but you know you totally feel us. Electric Zoo is no different, so check out what we think are some of the most glaring and painful conflicts of the weekend — and our advice for dealing with them — after the jump.
(Note: one thing we do know is that those who enter Sunday School Grove probably won’t be racing out to hit the mainstage at many junctures during the weekend, so there aren’t too many conflicts to contend with there. Not bad, eh?)
Events | THROWBACK THURSDAY: The Best of Global Dance Festival 2013
Posted by mimada on August 15, 2013

After finally resolving some site issues and getting the chance to post up in one location for more than 24 hours, I am elated to present to you a recap of Fresh New Tracks’ favorite moments from this year’s Global Dance Festival.
Global Dance Festival is the hidden gem of music festivals, not-so-quietly tucked away between the soaring red rocks a few miles outside Denver, Colorado. This year marks the 11th running of the festival and to this day, Global has stayed true to its motive of keeping things fresh and innovative as both electronic music and the world evolve. Each day of the festival varied greatly from the next, catering to electronic music aficionados of every kind.
SO CHECK IT OUT, AFTER THE BREAK!
Progressive House | Coldplay – Clocks (Jeter’s Fe5tival Rework)
Posted by Mel on August 1, 2013
You ever do a bit of meth, glance lustfully at the semi-nude drawing of Judge Judy you’re working on, go down to the mall and shake your head at high school kids holding hands, then return home to lie in bed for a few hours and eat cookies even though it’s like 3PM? Well that’s pretty much what my last couple of weeks has been so you can see why I haven’t posted anything (the site’s also been down for a bit but let’s just ignore that). There hasn’t been a song that I really felt compelled to post but even so, it’s been a while so I felt a little bad. So, I give you guys this. A progressive house remix of Coldplay’s “Clocks”. Jeter is the producer responsible for this remix and there is practically no information about him anywhere, except that he is a young lad from the UK. Ladies, the above photo excites you doesn’t it? That is the only picture I could find of him. He doesn’t have a logo or any artwork and judging by his perfectly done hair and seductive look, he’s very mysterious and cute. I know a Coldplay remix is somewhat lame but trust me, this one’s good. If you disagree then send Middy an email saying how much I suck. He will forward it to me and I will send you my top 10 Instagram finds of girls on vacation as an apology.
Albums, Mainstream Remix | Calvin Harris ft. Ellie Goulding – I Need Your Love (Urban Noize Remix)
Posted by J_Salzer on July 30, 2013
I know I don’t deal in remixes much, unless they’re of the hip-hop variety. But I know good music when I hear it. When critiquing non hip-hop music, my ear changes from stiff analyzation and cricial listening, and just goes to “well this sounds good.” When I first heard Urban Noize’s latest concoction, I thought to myself, “This sounds GREAT,” so I stepped a bit out of my comfort zone here, and decided to post it for all of you to enjoy. So forget my lack of terms for this type of music, and forgive my lack of eloquence, and enjoy the damn music. It sounds great.
