Never been to the land of tall, blond babes? Want to eat a 5-course meal at Axwell’s restaurant in Stockholm? (I do) Want to to go to his show in Stockholm on the 31st? Did I just get your heart racing to 128 bpm? I do not know if there will be a 5-course meal served at this comp, and if your heart automatically races to 128 bpm at the thought of Axwell, then that is dedication.
Well here is your lucky opportunity, Axwell is giving away an all expenses trip to his show at the 9,000 person Swedish Maritime Museum on August 31st, supported by NO_ID, that includes eating at his restaurant, attending his show and staying at some swanky hotel. Don’t be surprised if you meet the Ax-man himself. It would be wrong if you went all that way for free and didn’t. Think you don’t have a chance to meet Axwell? Well you can try and chat with him via Twitter tomorrow at 1pm EST for an hour, so ask him the burning questions you have always wanted to know, like what type of charcoal he uses for BBQs, how often he changes his oil, or what is his favorite snuggie.
To enter all you have to do is tag someone on FB or Twitter and explain why they are the Centre (
wrong British spelling) Of Your Universe. Cute isn’t it? Also you have to use the hashtag #AXWELLWTP, which works because hashtags are now acceptable on Facebook apparently. More info on his website, and you can buy tickets here.

Finally after being premiered late last year and garnering a massive following from the get go, Henrik B’s masterpiece with Rudy “Leave A Light On” has released with an outstanding remix from the up and coming dutch duo NO_ID. With a chugging bass line, emotional melody with its backbone in the simple yet incredibly effective piano riff and addictive vocals from Rudy that i guarantee will have you belting out “I Said Hey, Will You Leave A Light On For Me” for at least the next week to everyone you see. The NO_ID remix strips down the track to its more more rhythm based core putting more emphasis on the bass line, making the break much more bass oriented and giving it more of a feel of their previous track “How Are You Feeling Right Now”. Axtone’s reign of supremacy this year continues, it can’t get better can it?

As we wait for Hardwell & Dannic – Kontiki, Revealed Records has released these two tracks from NO_ID & Martin Volt with an edit from Hardwell to hold us over until then. The original is the more progressive of the two with a strong distorted bass line with a rising synth melody over the moving bass line in the break. Harwell’s edit is actually an edit, unlike the trend of tracks recently where the big name artist does very little and adds his name to it. He takes the song and strips it down to make it much more of a festival track, putting much greater emphasis on the bass line. He keeps the rising synth melody for part of the break but then drops it for his own signiature big room sound that takes this track to a whole new level.
Also included is a great progressive house remix of Lana Del Ray – Video Games from Adrien Mezsi that keeps the vocal and adds a smooth, moving synth melody sure to have you hooked. Also included after the jump is Adrien Meszi’s spring mix that includes the above mentioned Hardwell edit of “Zelda” and his remix of “Video Games”, among other progressive gems from the last few months.
