Progressive House | Dimitri Vegas, Moguai & Like Mike – Mammoth
Posted by Middy on March 5, 2013
One of the most sought after IDs from Tomorrowland 2012, the aptly named “Mammoth” from Belgian duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike with the help of German producing star Moguai is finally out. Moguai has been a little silent lately on the production front, while Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have been releasing a spree high powered, high energy tracks to start the year. However this one is in a class of its own when it comes to 2013 releases from the 3 of them. “Mammoth” relishes in blistering synth chords, a pitched lead and a grinding low end that gives this melodic yet tough track the power it needs throughout. Already seeing support from just about all of the top Djs, look for “Mammoth” to be among of the first contenders for one the the best tracks in 2013.

Progressive House | Moby – Extreme Ways (Moguai Remix)
Posted by Middy on September 25, 2012
German house / electro maestro Moguai has decided to expand his musical mpire into Moby’s realm with his single “Extreme Ways”, the song that became synonymous with the Bourne Trilogy (not the new one, you can’t just not have Matt Damon in a Bourne movie). The remix combines the iconic strings and vocals from the original with the grungy synths we have grown accustomed to hearing from Moguai, accompanied by varying snares. Taking on a Moby track is no small task and the work Moguai has done on this track is nothing short of outstanding. I am huge fan of the Bourne Trilogy so this gets an additional notch in my book.

House | Lift Off #001
Posted by Middy on June 29, 2012
There are a lot of great house tracks that slip between the cracks during the weeks as we try and post the best stuff that comes out. Lift Off is a new segment that will help to amend those crevasses and give us a chance to post a lot more submissions that showcase more upcoming talent from here in the US and around the world. The name “Lift Off” is that euphoric feeling you get at a festival having the greatest time of your life; it is the peak of celebration. In this there will be previews from time to time, songs on Beatport, lots of free tracks and maybe support for a Beatport contest if it is really good. This is not necessarily a weekly thing, it all depends on the rate at which the music collects. Enough talk, as the legend Pete Tong says “Welcome to the weekend”.
Tommy Trash starts us off with his club mix of his collaboration with Moguai on his latest album Mpire that takes the great original track with a Daft Punk flare and gives the drop a much needed boost to it. Listen above and get it on Beatport or iTunes.
John de Sohn provides a superb progressive house remix utilizing Max C’s signature vocals dextrously. With a chopped uplifting melody and a rising synth and quick moving piano melody in the interlude you will want to hit play. Get it on Beatport.
Under appreciated Adrien Mezsi teams with Italian duo Rayven & Valexx to give us “Domynos”, another uplifting progressive track (you see the theme developing here). A melodic, clap driven build crescendos into a euphoric synth driven drop with a growling underlayer and thumping bass. Get it on Beatport.
Moguai is getting some heavy work in this first edition of Lift Off with the Tommy Trash remix of “In N Out” and now his remix of Wally Lopez – Keep Running The Melody. He brings in a big room melody in the build and interludes with a simple yet effective percussive drop ready to make clubs and festivals ignite. Get it on Beatport.
Continuing his great 2012, Feenixpawl contributes a lively drop to his take on the infinitely remixed “Lights” by Ellie Goulding. More free tracks after the jump.
