It’s so hard to make a festival friendly banger without losing credibility. The line between cliche and timeless is extremely thin. (How Galantis does this is beyond me, but I digress.) Somehow, A-Trak has found a way to balance the two, creating “Push” featuring Andrew Wyatt of Miike Snow fame. The result is truly unforgettable, as “Push” has the potential to break through not only in a dance space full of predictable anthems, but also on American radio as well. A-Trak. Andrew Wyatt. Fire flames.

Progressive House | AN21 & Max Vangeli vs Tiesto ft. Lover Lover – People of the Night (Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman Remix)

AN21 & Max Vangeli vs. Tiësto Feat. Lover Lover 'People Of The Night' (Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman Remix)

The good guys of Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman are finally here with a release in 2013. The duo are no stranger to big remix requests, like their Miike Snow remix and they take full advantage of the opportunity on this one. The original was a much more melodic effort from AN21 & Max Vangeli as they got ready for their album, but Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman inject their own big-room flavor to make this track relevant once again and put it right back into DJ radio shows and sets, as we enter the last few months of the year. Coming up, at some point, they have their second release on Size, “Rebel” with AN21 and many more.

Progressive House | Miike Snow – Bavarian #1 (Say You Will) (Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman Remix)

Releasing a day early, Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman follow up their single “Pieces of Light” with an official Miike Snow remix that has the potential to catapult their careers to another level. The track combines familiar elements of uplifting synth chords with components of the original using the horns and the whistle to bring Swedish dance dominance onto their fellow countrymen’s track. With their “Pieces Of Light” remix package set to release Thursday, the Stockholm based duo are setting themselves up very nicely to go into 2013 with some very good momentum.

Progressive House | Miike Snow – Pretender (Deniz Koyu Remix)

Posted by on September 28, 2012

Miike Snow has become one of the most popular bands to remix with the likes of Thomas Gold, Dirty South, Wolfgang Garter and Jacques Lu Cont all getting nods for official remixes this year. In a remix that draws similarities to Fedde le Grand’s work on Coldplay’s “Paradise” with the stutters that were very much in style last year and earlier this year. Nonetheless, Deniz Koyu puts together yet another flawless production using the Miike Snow vocals to accentuate a well crafted melody that is held together by a steady bass line. Following his previous progressive hit “Follow You“, we are seeing the diversity of Deniz Koyu’s sound with tracks ranging from “Bong” to “Turn it” to his remix of “Spectrum”, and now this remix, as he continues to raise the bar with each production.

Compilation, Progressive House | Miike Snow – The Wave (Thomas Gold Remix)

Posted by on May 14, 2012

The Miike Snow remixes keep on coming from big name artists and each one somehow manages to be better than the previous remix. The genius German, Thomas Gold, gives us his take on Miike Snow – The Wave with a varying snare line, Miike Snow’s signature vocals that make them so easy to remix and an addicting, uplifting melody. With the Dirty South remix of Devil’s Work already getting plenty of work in sets all over the world, expect this remix to get much of the same treatment as a summer go to for many Djs during festival season.

Thomas Gold will be mixing the 2 CD, 32 track Axtone compilation to be released May 28th. It will be largely comprised of Thomas Gold tracks because he is mixing the compilation with some exclusive bootlegs of his, including a vocal mix of his number one single “Sing2Me”. It will include new edits and remixes as well as three new original tracks from Thomas Gold, giving us even more work from his extensive studio output. Tracklist after the jump

Progressive House | Miike Snow – Devil’s Work (Dirty South Remix)

Posted by on April 26, 2012

Dirty South does it again. He does not make bad tracks, it just does not happen. You will immediately recognize the vocals from Miike Snow and then Dirty South takes over adding a moving piano melody into the build that crescendos into a massive varying 4 chord synth line, a rising synth, steady bass line and well timed stops. Phazing Records is turning into a force with Dirty South’s releases and now his signings of Michael Brun and Special Features. It should be fun to see what comes from Phazing later this year and in 2013.
