Electro-House | Tegan – XIII (Thirteen) EP
Posted by Middy on January 5, 2014
Miami DJ / producer Tegan has released his debut three track EP “XII (Thirteen)”. The French born producer has a residency on Radio FG in Mexico and has taken his training as an audio engineer to the producing front with a few remixes and now 3 originals packaged in this EP. The three tunes show the melodic side of electro house, adding tasteful melodies to hard hitting saws and synths. Jump into the new year quickly with these three freebees from Tegan and look for more from him soon.

Progressive House | LarsM feat. Mona Moua – Air

The two words “oh wow” when said together by a short, yet kinda tall blond girl, or anybody really, will always make me smile and think back to an awesome thing that transpired in my life that is now forever associated with those special words (it’s not a sexual thing I swear (it is)). I didn’t audibly say those two words but I definitely thought them when I first heard the powerful melody in the build of this song. LarsM, a 19 year old Polish producer who has a vast catalogue of past releases, of which most are free, is known for his (hold on, I’m going to reach into my bulging sack of overused blogger adjectives) “happy” sounding tracks. To say that he is on the same level as Avicii when it comes to catchy melodies might be a bit of a stretch, but he is not far behind. “Air”, his latest original, features the impressive vocals of Mona Moua and boasts an incredibly euphoric melody and drop. I have also included his older song “Earthlike” because it is one of his best tracks and it showcases his ability to create those outstanding melodies.

Mixtapes | Vice & Vision – Ctrl + Alt + Del

Presented to me as “steaze from two steazy canadians”, here’s some really fresh hip hop for y’all getting sick of your day to day music. A duo from Edmonton, Canada, the two really know how to pick them. It was all in the instrumentals that really caught my attention, using beats from RJD2, Atu, Carmack, Vanilla, Moods & even more than that?!?! It was too good to be true. The mixtape features a unique array of songs, ranging from slappers to mellow-mooded melodies with original lyrics to reflect on. Download Ctrl + Alt + Del here for FREE.
Progressive House | Arty, Matisse & Sadko – RIOT
Posted by Middy on December 16, 2013
The Russian team who brought us the magical track on Axtone last year, “Trio”, Arty & Matisse & Sadko finish out their year with “RIOT”. You know what you are going to get with these three: stadium sized, sublime melodies and “RIOT” is just that, another flawless performance from these three. Spinnin’ has been become known for its somewhat repetitive festival-ready releases, so it is nice to see one of their bigger tracks come in the form of something melodic like “RIOT”.

House | SikDuo – Take Em Up (Original Mix)

Pacha NYC’s resident DJ duo keep the momentum going by serving up another free download just in time for the week. Another punchy progressive house release from the pair, “Take Em Up” stutter steps through a gauntlet of dark synthwork and blaring sirens. Crafting the perfect score for Pacha’s main room, SikDuo incorporates classic progressive melodies and a throwback hip hop sample — all designed for the club they call home. If you missed them last night, then shame on you.
Preview, Progressive House, Trap | What So Not – JAGUAR (Preview)

Didn’t really know what to expect out of this track when it first got started in my speakers, but once the ball got rolling, the drop blew my frickin brains out. It’s been a huge year for What So Not and this is the perfect way to top off the 2013 music career. It nicely full of melodies and hooks to please the ear but has a massive eruption of bass and extreme feeling that other songs cannot compare to. It’s a huge staple in his growing setlist for sure and still vibes to that signature What So Not sound so its a win/win for everyone. Look for this December 10th via OWSLA.
