Dubstep | Singularity – Vain

Posted by on October 29, 2013

“Vain” is one of four tracks on Singularity’s new EP called “Rift”. It was very hard to pick just one song to feature, because they are all great. The EP has melodic dubstep, breaks, and drum and bass tracks. The piano in this track was provided by Evan Duffy. “Vain” is melodic and heartfelt, and has great pacing. The EP also includes Singularity’s first remix contest, and that will be for the track called “Rift”, so check that one out too!

Albums, Drum & Bass, Dubstep | Rameses B – Timeless EP

Posted by on October 28, 2013

You can always count on Rameses B to release top quality work. This EP, called “Timeless”, does not disappoint. It features two drum and bass tracks, one more ambient track, and one melodic dubstep track. Being the chill music lover that I am, I’d pick “Never Forget” and “Underwater ft. Meron Ryan” as favorites, but really all the tracks are great. Check it out on Beatport below!

Electro-House | Icona Pop – Girlfriend (The Chainsmokers Remix)

Posted by on October 27, 2013

While I still hold a grudge against the illiterate chick at the door of Webster Hall, my love for The Chainsmokers is as strong as ever. Those of you who were at TomorrowWorld and of course made the decision to go check out Alex & Drew heard this bad boy live. The remix is a bit of a change from the soothing indie melodic stuff we have heard in the past, and incorporates harder percussive elements… foreshadowing something Alex? They made the instrumental beforehand and were waiting for right vocal and in stepped Icona Pop. They made a music video with themselves, kids and candy. Just watch it. In the future, they have some big collabs coming including one with Adrian Lux.

Collin McLoughlin and Fred V & Grafix link up to create a chilled out melodic drum and bass smasher. Collin McLoughlin’s career is like Sushi, he’s on a roll. Yeah, I stole that from Sound Remedy.

Electro-House, Progressive House | Talent Revealed Volume 2

Posted by on October 14, 2013

Talent Revealed Volume 2Hardwell presents the second edition of Talent Revealed, a showcase of some bright new stars set to break through in dance music. The first edition saw a guy named Dyro get his first real opportunity and well we have seen the rest from there. Lush & Simon start things off with their single “Adrenaline” that highlights their powerful big room sounds, giving the EP a melodic side to it versus the heavier cuts from their Dutch peers. Julian Calor adds a gritty electro house original to the EP, while 16 year old Dutchman Row Rocka adds a festival friendly cut “Gate 9”, that fits with the current direction of Revealed Recordings.

Electro-House, Progressive House | Axwell – Center of the Universe (Blinders Remix)

Posted by on October 14, 2013

Axwell - Center of the Universe (Blinders Remix)Woah. Polish producer Blinders first made his presence known to the dance music community with his official remix of Dirty South & Thomas Gold “Alive”. Blinder’s keeps the melodic nature of the original, but adds a edginess to it, giving it an extra kick and bite. If Axwell believes in this guy, then the smart money would be for you to do so as well.

Progressive House | Kryder – Pyrmd

Posted by on October 9, 2013

Kryder - PrymdKryder continues his hot label streak following his debut on Axtone Records with “Aphrodite“, now debuting a new single on Nicky Romero’s label Protocol Recordings in “Pyrmd”. It carries the same bouncy, groovy bass lines and melodic elements we expect from the Manchester producer / DJ with an edgier side that slots this perfectly onto the label, and making this one of his strongest productions to date.
