Xanwow - Sonsopkoms
Meet Xan Griffin, aka Xanwow. Straight from Apple Valley, California, this 14 year old embraced his sunshine roots early and lucky for us, transferred it to this melodic chord progression that will make your jaw drop. The sound is pristine, the vibe is quality, and the transitions are absolutely captivating. Oh and did I mention, it’s a free download? Dubstep | Wonder Wonder – Shark (Illenium Remix)

Posted by on October 24, 2014

Immediately after hearing this track, I knew it had to be written up. I’ve been in a bit of a writing drought, and this track sparked my inspiration back up. That’s got to be saying something! Illenium, from Denver, brings us this dubstep remix of “Shark” by Wonder Wonder today. I thoroughly enjoy the vocals from the original track, and the new twist from Illenium. It’s definitely melodic dubstep and clearly shows experience in production. I would go as far as to call this “chillstep” – but with a little bit clearer structure to the song. The drops are smooth and the lead will be stuck in your head all day! Download it for free below!

House | James Bay – Let It Go (Bearson Remix)

James Bay - Let It Go (Bearson Remix)As has been said before, tropical house is where it is at. One of the newcomers of the fast emerging sub-genre is Norwegian native Bearson (they all seem to be from the coldest places). We have brought you remixes from Bearson before, but this may be his best yet, showing some melodic poise over easy going percussion. James Bay’s vocals are the perfect compliment to what Bearson constructs with his instrumental. Best yet, the remix is free, so make sure you grab it below.

DO SOMETHING

Progressive House | Bowts – Recur

bowts

A little something before you kick off the weekend. I hadn’t heard anything from Magnus & Timon for quite some time and lo and behold it was because they had split up and Timon is producing on his own. Not skipping a beat, Timon, now Bowts, delivers another well produced, high energy, melodic tune, filled with plenty of hands in the air moments. It is free, so make sure you grab it below.

Progressive House | Arias & Greg Cerrone – Foot Steps

arias & greg cerrone - foot steps

What was thought to be a Size release for a long time has been released on Ultra Records. First premiered by Steve Angello at UMF, (hear that roar!) the massive “Foot Steps” from Arias and Greg Cerrone is finally here. The tune has parts from both artists, as Greg Cerrone channels the same melodic mastery he displayed on “Nightventure” and Arias adds his equally potent skills crafted melodies and layering. These foot steps are coming towards you and they are loud quite powerful.

Apparel, Dubstep | Tritonal vs. Mr FijiWiji – Seraphic

Posted by on September 16, 2014

This piece is absolutely beautiful. It was too hard to pass up. Mr FijiWiji produced another skilled melodic dubstep track, and this time teamed up with Tritonal as well. The piano in “Seraphic” coveys so much emotion as the chill synths ring underneath. The drops include stabbing low synths and an eerie atmosphere. Thrilling and unique, you’ve got to press play. If this ambient track is your style you can find it for purchase on Itunes.

Hip-Hop | Jon Waltz – Victoria (ft. Allan Kingdom)

Posted by on September 12, 2014

Jon Waltz is slowly, but surely finding his way to the top of my “Up and Comers to Watch Out For” list. On his most recent release Waltz teams up with Allan Kingdom, a rapper from up north who has been causing a buzz alongside Spooky Black and their clique, The Standard.

The two oddball rappers fit perfectly on this track and make a record that is equal parts melodic as it is eccentric.

Wherever Victoria is out there, hopefully she heard this song.
