It’s been a while since I’ve heard a decent electro-house track: with an industry that’s been somewhat over-saturated with trap and house, this banger is, ironically, pretty refreshing. Straight out of NYC, DJ Prime, the guy who bumped Martin Garrix’s “Wizard” out of the #1 spot on the Hypem Charts with “Big Room Bass,” just threw us a brand new track dubbed “Start A F***ing Riot!” When you turn up, be ready for some anarchy.

Martin Garrix’s followup to “Animals”, “Wizard” has found a similar stature in the dance world, though fortunately not nearly as remixed, yet. One of those remixes comes from extra potent Sex Panther, who adds a bouncy electro tinge to the track, taking out the typical Garrix elements in favor of Melbourne influenced saws. Vicious Records label boss, Vandalism teams up with one of the most talented members on their artist roster, Brazilian producer FTampa to create the festival sized track “Yes”. It has been heavily supported by Dutch wunderkind, Martin Garrix, lending to its festival ready nature, and should see some play as the outdoor dance music events head down under. It has been an outstanding year from FTampa, and look for that to continue in 2014. Remixes come in from Orkestrated & Fredy See.

Yesterday the EDM world wonder child Martin Garrix released his “Wizard” top 10 list on Beatport, and the Reece Low remix of Australian duo Bombs Away made it onto the list, and if you take a listen, you’ll understand why, the track goes hard! If you’re a DJ, I strongly suggest you include this tune in your mix, that Melbourne bounce sound is gaining popularity, and the Australians are absolutely killing it! This is a must listen and a must download!

Consider this a public service announcement. The Wizard is here and you aren’t going to stop him. Listen now, if you haven’t already and get to know the track. It sounds like “Animals”, but hey, Garrix knows what is working for him and is capitalizing on it. And to all the haters saying Martin Garrix is a fraud, just stop, you are making yourself look silly.

She’s baaaaaack…. another guest post from our Scandinavian sweetheart, Rebecca.
Just as we all started to feel that ”Animals” should be deleted (or at least reduced to one play per night) from the playlists in mainstream night clubs, Martin Garrix dropped his latest track, ”Wizard”. Yes, we all loved ”Animals;” I personally discovered it with great ecstacy, but creating a drop that sounds like the ”Animals” drop played backwards and adding a slightly different melody to it, doesn’t make a new world hit.
Sticking to a personal sound is a good thing, don’t get me wrong. Garrix did more than well with the ”Project T” remix. He sealed it with the big G without spelling out the whole name. But Wizard just feels like the easiest way out, using already proven tricks. If it wasn’t for him to be such a damn cute Dutch prodigy (Is it possible for a 20 year old to adopt a 17 year old? Anyone?) I would be much more disappointed. He has already shown that he has what it takes, so I’ll just look past this little ”Wizard” mishap.
If you for some reason still can’t get enough of ”Animals”, but feel like you need to move on (I mean it’s been 4 months since the official release. It’s been ”Animals” everyday. Everywhere. For 4 months), I suggest the Rasmus Hedegaard remix/mashup ”Still Animals”. This trap producing Dane knows his mixes (Had to make a little room for my Scandinavian neighbors in my post, it’s just a tiny bridge between my home town and Denmark – fun facts). Daring enough to take on the world’s most loved tracks, he played matchmaker between Garrix and Dr. Dre, and I believe they make a beautiful couple. Listen below and see what I mean.
