Events | Electric Zoo Releases Trailer, Extra Security Measures & Pre-Sale Tickets
Posted by Middy on April 30, 2014
The big news coming out of Made Event today is that Electric Zoo finally was issued its permits by the city of New York for this year over Labor Day weekend August 29th – August 31st. That means all of the wild and ridiculous speculation that E Zoo wouldn’t be back can end and the attention can turn to who will be booked and the new safety measures put in place. Speaking of those safety measures, a quick run down: drug sniffing dogs, lots of extra cops & medical personnel, including undercovers in the crowd, big marketing & social media campaign about safety and most importantly, a shorter festival cutting two hours of the day from 11am – 1pm.
So the question now arises, with all of the extra security, will it become suffocating and cause problems or be a net benefit and will you get your money’s worth for you ticket since prices are not going down, even with less acts. Pre-sale tickets are on sale now for $335 so check it out and make the decision yourself. We had a blast day one and two last year, but everyone knows this year will be different.

Events | Sunday Of Electric Zoo Canceled Due to “Serious Health Concerns”
Posted by Middy on September 1, 2013
Sunday of Electric Zoo has been canceled. If you are reading this and getting ready for the festival, stop and go back to bed because today is not happening. In conjunction with the Mayor’s office, Made Event, agreed to cancel Sunday after 2 people died over the course of Friday and Saturday and at least another 4 became seriously ill and needed to be hospitalized. The cause for the hospitalizations is not known yet, but it is presumed to be MDMA consumption. Before we start pointing fingers and blaming this person and that person, realize that this is a tragedy and two people died, so our hearts and prayers go out to the families and friends of the those who died, and we hope for a speedy recovery for those hospitalized. However, at some point these needless deaths at festivals have got to come to an end and soon because they are going to bring this to a halt.
Made Event has released a statement on the matter:
The founders of Electric Zoo send our deepest condolences to the families of the two people who passed away this weekend. Because there is nothing more important to us than our patrons, we have decided in consultation with the New York City Parks Department that there will be no show today.

Posted by Middy on April 9, 2013
In its 5th Year, Made Event‘s Electric Zoo recently announced its plan to create two main stages to try and augment the festival-goers experience and cements its place among the premier festivals nationwide. We are in the midst of a production and creativity arms race by various promotion companies like Ultra and Insomniac that are pushing the boundaries of what is possible every year. This latest attempt to do so by Made Event as it tries to compete with Ultra and EDC and their festival experiences is a great step in the right direction. Logistically, it will be interesting to see how they pull it off with the limited space on Randall’s Island. Today they announced the acts gracing the “East” and “West” main stages and they are working to give you your 330 dollars worth with names like Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Avicii, W&W, Tiesto, Madeon, Bassnectar, Hardwell, Diplo, Sebastian Ingrosso, and many more all heading to New York City for this Labor Day Weekend extravaganza. We are looking forward to seeing what comes from the rest of the stages. You have to give credit to E Zoo for announcing artist info so early, something very rare nowadays. Tickets are on sale now, so get them here.
