Electro | Bobby Caldwell – What You Won’t Do (Vinnie Jersey Club Mix)
Posted by Middy on January 27, 2014
It is funny to see Jersey Club getting some recognition by the national dance music audience. Growing up in Jersey it and baltimore club were the sound of kids beat-boxing at lunch, creating spontaneous dance battles anywhere, anytime. On this remix Vinnie fuses the bass line impeccably with the soulful, baby-making original from Bobby Caldwell, adding stutters and pitch changes throughout the song. Electro-House | Disco Fries – Murika (Tommie Sunshine & Live City Remix)

Live City & the edm Jesus, Tommie Sunshine, collabed last year alone 5 times, so it is fitting that they would get right to it in 2014 with another remix effort. They unleash a fireball of a remix, with an acid-tinged, electro drop, over a punchy, rolling bass line. These three have been coming together on some big tunes, and this remix is no different. Don’t forget to check out the two Disco Fries originals that are also on the EP.

It seems like yesterday when MAKJ hit 100,00 Facebook fans, but with success of “Countdown” alongside Hardwell and recent touring, MAKJ has doubled his Facebook total in only a few months to 200k. To celebrate he has given away a new single “Mad Max”. It samples the sounds of cars accelerating, drawing upon his youth as a professional race car driver in China, while adding his electro house pizazz and a churning, rolling bass line. Hip-Hop, Rap | Vonny del Fresco – Noir Designer
Posted by admin on January 12, 2014
With the sheer volume of new rappers emerging every day, it never ceases to amaze me how small the hip-hop community actually is. The interconnectivity of all us youngins’ once again came around full circle when “Noir Designer” graced my inbox earlier this week. Although I was familiar with Vonny del Fresco, I never had sat down and truly listened to what he had to offer.
The distorted voice and harsh passion he brings with every line, helps del Fresco paint a vivid picture of a woman caught up in the materialistic glitz and glamour. The almost-satanic sounding song is the antithesis of a typical ballad. As del Fresco explains,
“Noir Designer” tells the tale of a night’s encounter with a female living in a materialistic world, feeding off of greed inspired by her surroundings.
A beautiful exterior disguises inner ugliness.
The finer things allow her to feel secure, indulgence in excess–drugs, sex, sparkling nights–helps her cope.
She meets someone who understands her urges–a man who wants nothing more than to use her in exchange for giving her everything she desires.
A powerful message put forward in a strikingly blunt and confrontational manner is all summed up with a thought-provoking question: Is this modern love?

Electro-House | Wolfgang Garnter – Piranha

Consistently one of the most innovative minds in electro house, and in dance music in general, Wolfgang Gartner has been a pioneer from the moment he started. Capping off another great year that has seen the resurgence of his label, Kindergarten Recordings, the cat loving American releases his new single “Piranha”. “Piranha” has the unique electro sound you want from Wolfgang, with a foreboding synth lead, a punchy bass line and glitchy, melodic excellence. Like a piranha, this track won’t just come after you once, but rather slowly beat you into submission with each subtle element over the entire duration of the song.

Prime is back with his follow up single “Lets Get Wasted,” an Electro-House record that wants you to get wasted with your friends. Expect a massive angry saw bass synth and and a tag line vocal “Let’s Get Wasted” that leads into the drop. This is the kind of tune you get wasted to at the club. and all of sudden things get blurry, but you can somehow keep your ears on the synth, making for that euphoric feeling. This is a must listen and support by purchasing the track on Beatport!
