Hip-Hop | King Fantastic – Guide to Safely Petting Cougars (Different Sleep Remix)
Posted by Jess on September 17, 2012
On October 2nd, King Fantastic will be releasing a brand new remix album for their SocioPoliticalPimpTalk EP entitled Socializing with Pimps, which will be available at all major online retailers. Here at FreshNewTracks, we were able to get our hands on one of the stand out remixes from the EP by Different Sleep of “Guide to Safely Petting Cougars”. The original was one of my favorites off the original EP with its chill guitar backdrop. Different Sleep takes it and turns it into a smooth west coast anthem that has a similar beat as Public Enemy’ “By the Time I Get to Arizona”, which is no problem to me as that is one of my all time favorites from the legendary duo. Stream Different Sleep’s remix of “Guide to Safely Petting Cougars” below and be on the lookout for Socializing with Pimps dropping October 2nd.
Check out the tracklisting for Socializing with Pimps after the jump.

You can expect a new remix EP for their recently released SocioPoliticalPimpTalk EP, as well as a new mixtape, singles, and videos coming soon. In the meantime, check out this sick edit of King Fantastic’s track “Hollywood Jam Session” that Troublemaker laced with Skrillex’s “Trung” instrumental.

King Fantastic and Zeds Dead? Yes, please. Troublemaker, one half of King Fantastic, just unleashed his edit of their latest single “G Sharp” combining the song with Zeds Dead’s “Oh No”. The result is a massive mixture of Dubstep and Gangsta Rap, or as King Fantastic calls it Westcoastsynthesizerbeachbumgangstermusic. The original “G Sharp” is the first single off King Fantastic’s upcoming EP, SocioPoliticalPimpTalk, due to be released next Tuesday on May 8th. Download the new edit below and become a fan of King Fantastic on Facebook.
