Electro-House | Ivan Gough & Jebu – Noxu
Posted by Middy on February 24, 2014

The team who brought you “Kukatu” last year on Size are back with an even bigger tune to follow up that 2013 festival hit. Just in time for Miami, “Noxu” packs the powerful punch needed for tunes as the weather warms up in the Northern Hemisphere and shows move outdoors. The two Australian producers have been pounding out this tune during the Aussie festival season that is in full swing right now, but expect to hear a lot more of this in the coming months with its thumping bass line and chunky stabs. Size is celebrating its 10 year anniversary this year, with parties and cool releases to come next month, so consider this a warmup.

Progressive House | Ivan Gough, Walden & Jebu ft. Penelope Austin – Home
Posted by Middy on December 14, 2013

It is no secret, the Australians have been churning out talented producers at a remarkable clip lately. Three of them, Ivan Gough, Walden & Jebu have come together on this melodic, barn stormer that features the piercing female vocals of fellow Aussie singer, Penelope Austin. The Stephan Dabruck remix fits it for the current festival climate down under.

Progressive House | Walden – First Day
Posted by Middy on September 11, 2013
The young Aussie has not given us an original in quite some time, taking to the remix front heavily this year, most recently making his debut on Armada, remixing Paul van Dyk & Christian Burns’ “We Are Tonight”. With “First Day”, Walden captures the excitement of a first day or a first encounter, he brings together his brights synths and playful melodies for another quality original. You can also find an electro-styled remix from fellow Aussies, Ivan Gough and Jebu. You can catch Walden on tour this fall, starting tomorrow with Morgan Page and Project 46 on the Morgan Page Presents tour across North America.

DJ-Set | Steve Angello Essential Mix 3/30/13
Posted by Middy on April 1, 2013

Steve Angello is currently sitting on the sunny beaches of Bora Bora sans computer, phone or any electronic devices, totally disconnected from the world as he decompresses from the 6 year whirlwind run he had with Swedish House Mafia that came to a close two Sundays ago at Ultra Music Festival. Before his vacation he took the time to drop off an essential mix into the offices of BBC’s Radio One. The mix puts in the rearview the SHM era and puts on full display the outrageous riches in the Size HQ hard drive that are just begging to be released.
DJ-Set, House | DIrty South Essential Mix 3/16/13
Posted by Middy on March 16, 2013
Coming off of his debut album “Speed of Life“, Dirty South has taken over the reigns of the legendary essential mix to showcase his own new music as well some new tunes from his label and others. With Ultra dominating the dance music discussion, Dirty South had the untenable task of trying to create a set that would capture the hearts and minds of those in Miami or who wish they were. There are a few bootlegs in here, but overall this mix is not about strong mixing skills, but rather a great track selection and brand new tunes from start to finish.
Dirty South starts out with the title track of his album “Speed Of Life”, adding in the vocals from “City Of Dreams”and then moves through one of the several premiers from his own Phazing Records, Those Unusual Suspects’ “Blaze”. Later on we get the first glimpse of what is to come from Michael Brun’s upcoming EP on Phazing with his single with Zashanell “Halfway”. The Australian star puts on full display unreleased tracks from major labels like Size, Spinnin and Mau5trap with tracks such as “Liceu” from Sebjak & Marcus Shossow and “Here & Now” from Ummet Ozcan. He gives the radio premier of the Jacques Lu Cont remix of his still potent “City Of Dreams”, keeping the same melodic properties of the original, while adding his own twist and has the exclusive of Ivan Gough vs Steve Bleas & Stevie Mink’s “Boom”, forthcoming on Size Records and a new Pryda record “F.A.T.”, something that always gets the blood flowing. Pryda did very well last night with not only the premier of this record, but the even bigger “Power Drive” on Pete Tong’s Essential Selection, a track that is to be part of his next EP. While this essential may not stack up against the epic Eric Prydz essential mix back in February, but then again there may not be any that will, the Aussie has put in a very strong mix to continue his outstanding start to the year.
House | Lift Off #002
Posted by Middy on July 12, 2012
We start things off in the second edition of Lift Off with New York producer duo, Mysto & Pizzi who has garnered some serious remix duties for Kaskade, Avicii now are taking their production to the next level for Swiss producer / DJ EDX. They add more to the melody of the track with a soothing chord progression, accentuating John Williams’ stellar vocals.

Feenixpawl & Ivan Gough add their progressive flare with a drop of a well composed synth melody and a driving bass line to Adrian Lux’s single “Burning” with Dante on the vocals.

Frenchman Michael Canitrot has released a great new single with Polina on the vocals combining melodic synth chord with growling undertones, creating a powerful and energetic track. TV Noise, known for their song with Julian Jordan, “Oxford” keeps much of the melody, while adding more of an electro house feel to it.
Eitro clarifies his talent with a catchy melody that builds into an abundance of alleviating sounds. Also be sure to watch out for “Love 2.0” coming out August 6th.
