Melodic Progressive | Victoria Shersick Delivers ‘Voices’
Posted by JT on December 30, 2014
New York’s Victoria Shersick has consistently improved her production quality with every tune and this track is a pure testament of her capabilities. At first play the fades and cuts in the back ground consumed me, stealing my breath. This track is the perfect balance between high energy and chill vibes. ‘Voices’ has been added to my post-rave/late-night drive playlist and no doubt it’ll make the cut on your end too. Grab this free download, and spread the noise.
Progressive House | Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman – ID2
Posted by Middy on September 23, 2014
No this is not some ode to a bygone era of constant Avicii IDs, this is simply just the name that has become branded to this tune, including on radio tracklists and to retitle it might damage the effect of the release. Let’s hope it doesn’t start a trend of artists releasing songs legitimately called “ID” because that would cause some serious problems for guys like Eric Prydz. Size has been on fire this year with their usual suspects of high energy tunes, but also a new smattering of deeper, groovier tunes that have escaped the clutches of his newly formed We Are All X imprint. In the mold of those big progressive tunes, Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman return for their 4th release on the label, first since April’s smash single “Payback” that still echoes around the few remaining festival grounds and now filled arenas & concert halls. Expect to hear “ID2” plenty as the year closes out.
Another note worth mentioning, their Tom Ordell remix that was previewed last summer will finally get a release date soon, so stay tuned to Vangelis & Wyman’s socials for details.

Progressive House | Bowts – Recur
Posted by Middy on September 19, 2014
A little something before you kick off the weekend. I hadn’t heard anything from Magnus & Timon for quite some time and lo and behold it was because they had split up and Timon is producing on his own. Not skipping a beat, Timon, now Bowts, delivers another well produced, high energy, melodic tune, filled with plenty of hands in the air moments. It is free, so make sure you grab it below.

Progressive House | Oliver Heldens – Gecko (Elephante Remix)
Posted by Mel on June 28, 2014
“Gecko” by Oliver Heldens was a massive hit and Elephante, the guy whose remixes are all hits as well decided to put his own spin on it. The memorable riff from the original remains, but electro sounds and big chords have been added, resulting in a much more high energy track.

Progressive House | Galantis – You
Posted by Mel on February 28, 2014
For those unaware, Galantis is a recently formed Swedish duo made up of Christian Karlsson of the indie pop band Miike Snow and Linus Eklow, better known as Style Of Eye. The duo’s second original together, “You”, is really something else. The vocals are unique and clearly stand out as the forefront of the track. That is not to say the production is lacking however, as its lightness during the build goes perfectly with the high energy drop. Everything in this song just fits together so well.

Albums, Review, Trap | Brillz – Retwonked
Posted by J-Tiffy on December 17, 2013
Just a week ago, Brillz dropped a remix rendition of his Twonk LP. This release is suitably named Retwonked and is a song for song remix package (granted, there are two remixes of WTF on here), and it again takes trap style music and gives if a jet engine face wash.
Brillz is among the clan of artists that are responsible for keeping trap music – and other genres, in a less significant manner – interesting and moving forward. Mundane isn’t in this dude’s vocabulary. I love listening to Brillz mixes, and seeing him live because his music is a blast to party to. It’s trap music that’s hyped way up, and includes so many elements of different genres, that he can toss in just about anything that is high energy and it feels right at home. He brought on a bunch of remixes by his other fellow innovators for this package. The result that is unprecedented, and packed with upside-down A’s. I gave a few words about each track, as well as an EP teaser mix and a full length Brillz mix after the jump.

My friend put me on to Elephante’s debut EP “Pretty Lights” and it’s one of the most refreshing sounds I’ve heard in a minute. “Pretty Lights” is high energy electro-music complete with dope melodies, and chopped up glitchy vocals for the ultimate sensation. The EP is currently up for free download, and you’re not going to want to miss out on this. Elephante graduated from Harvard in 2011 and has been selling out shows ever since, working on his music, and is now ready to take the music world by storm. This is a must listen for sure!
