“Hello” has seen an incredible amount of genre spanning remixes, so whenever I see another remix in my inbox I’m always skeptical. However, when I listened to up and coming producer Zravia’s cover remix of Adele’s track, I knew I had to share it with the world. Intended to bring the #1 hit to a much darker, bass-driven world, Zravia takes a unique approach in this track, both vocally and in his production. Check it out now and see for yourself, and grab that free download!

One of the most refreshing things about dance music is the fact that artists are always pushing the envelope creatively by remixing other artists’ tracks. This typically breeds healthy competition between artists within a genre, as two talented producers are able to push each other to deliver a better product. At 21 years old, Felix Jaehn has already accomplished what many artists hope to achieve in their entire careers, as his remix of “Cheerleader” last year soared to the top of the charts in over 50 countries, and solidified him as an elite talent in dance music. His most recent output, “Book of Love,” is nearing a million plays on its own, and Jaehn has tabbed Mr. Belt & Wezol, Mike Mago, and Chris Meid for a stunning remix pack that features three unique takes on the tropical house gem. In particular, Mr. Belt & Wezol gives “Book of Love” an extra boost of energy, so check out the remix above, and the rest of the remix pack below the jump.

This is definitely one of more interesting EP’s I’ve come across in a long long time. The debut self-titled EP from Australian singer, songwriter and producer “Whisperer” is one that can’t really be classified into any one particular genre, but it captivated me from start to finish. Think Explosions In The Sky meets atmospheric/dream-pop and you have this masterpiece. With beautiful melodies, vocals, and instrumentals, I’m looking forward to hearing what Whisperer comes up with in the future. Check out the Whisperer EP now!

Bass | Oliver Heldens Drops HI-LO Edit of 90s Classic “MHATLP”

Most producers would be happy being a superstar in one genre, but Oliver Heldens is not like most producers. At twenty years old, Heldens has championed an emerging genre in future house, started his own Heldeep Records imprint, and is now turning his attention to the rising bass house genre with his HI-LO moniker. HIs most recent output comes in the form of a HI-LO edit of the forthcoming Oliver Heldens & Da Hool remake of a 90s classic, “MHATLP,” and it’s a modern day makeover of an old school track. The glitchy melody of the original now sits atop a bed of raw, rolling breaks, gruff bass lines, and whiny synth stabs, as Heldens dons his HI-LO mask for this edit. “MHATLP” is due out on September 28th via Spinnin’ Records.

It’s impossible to truly capture how impressive EDX’s career has been. Few artists in any genre have been able to stay relevant through so many dramatic changes like the Italian-born producer has been able to, which is an ode to his hard work and tireless effort. While last year was an evolutionary year for the Swiss beatmaster, this year has been one of EDX’s best. Releases like his “Indian Summer” remix of “Show Me Love” and his “Miami Sunset” remix of Spada’s “Catchfire (Sun Sun Sun)” were both chart-dominating releases, topping the Hype Machine and Beatport charts, on their way to over 30 million plays together. Now, EDX is closing out his year strong with his newest original, “Belong,” a masterful blend of deep and progressive, that marks his return to Spinnin’ Deep.
