Compilation, Electronic | Rooftops Horizon Compilation Vol. 1
Posted by mimada on July 28, 2014

Startup labels seem to be all the rage these days. Thanks to the success of independent outlets such as Soulection and Pilerats, to name a few, off-the-radar artists have hit the internet jackpot. Today’s startup spotlight goes to Rooftops Horizon, a label based out of Paris, the city of love and great music. This compilation features tracks from some of our current favorite producers such as Rusty Hook, salute, and Renz, alongside some new names, JL and Romby. Snatch this free download for some blissful listening this Monday evening. (I’ve had “Gold Rush” on repeat for an hour now)
Chill | Damian Marley – Road To Zion ( EFIX & XKAEM Cover )
Posted by VMan on July 18, 2014
EFIX is always on that fiyah, going more then remixing classic jams, but actually recreating them in his Mediterranean flavor. This time, EFIX hits us with a Nas and Damian Marley cover of “Road To Zion” with Montpellier, France reggae artist XKAEM, and the track is some straight fire, it’s impossible not to vibe out to. I’ll have to be honest I’ve been holding on to this track for a good week before share it, before you’ll have to excuse me, I’ve been out here jamming, and I can’t wait to hear where he’s going to take his reggae sound next! I hear originals! This is a must listen and a must download!

Exclusive, Videos | FNT Premiere: BOTH – Straight Outta Line (Video)
Posted by Middy on July 14, 2014
Hailing from Belgium & France, producer duo, BOTH recently released their new summer tipped single “Straight Outta Line”. Cheery and poppy, this tune is one of those diamond in the rough tunes for you to play out combining the synth heavy climaxes and addictive vocals. We are proud to premiere the video for the tune, which follows three 20-somethings as they journey across the Western US, living the free life.
Once you are done with the video, peep the P.A.F.F.’s Deep Remix, which does not lie and is quite deep. Grab the tune on iTunes here.

Pegboard Nerds are always releasing progressive house electro bangers to rage to, and “Here It Comes” is no different, reminiscent of my days out in Southern France, near the Spanish border, listening to melodic macina music: epic and hard; so if you’re just waking up, pour yourself some coffee, press play and get yourself inspired! Out via Monstercat, “Here It Comes” is a must listen and support by copping it on Beatport!

Alternative, Drum & Bass, Electronic | Max Frost – White Lies (Tune In Crew Remix) // Tune In Crew – Still Waters
Posted by Spice on April 21, 2014

Two big new tracks from one of our favorite duos out of France, the Tune In Crew. The first is a high energy, drum n’ bass-infused remix of Max Frost’s “White Lies,” which switches up the vocal blend of the original while weaving in a rich combination of live instruments (is that a maracas?). An unexpected but wonderfully seamless trap break mellows out the vibe midway through before the track hurtles back into a spray of fast-paced kicks. The second track switches gears considerably; drawing inspiration from epic movie soundtracks, the twangy, instrumental “Still Waters” is yearning and bluesy and would no doubt be right at home in a Tarantino montage. Stream both below.
Jersey Club | Rusty Hook – Get So Fly
Posted by mimada on April 6, 2014

As soon as you hear that iconic riff, you’ll already know what it is – but lemme just tell you to wait a second because this is, quite frankly, even better. As soon as I pressed play on Bordeaux-producer, Rusty Hook’s Baby Bash remix, “Get So Fly,” I straight up got the chills! Imagine the original, except without the cheesy lyrics, with a Jersey Club twist and full of unexpected breaks and pauses that leave you just dying to hear more. In the short amount of time this track has been live via Cosmonostro and Marmorean Records, it has already ran dry of free downloads, but you can still take 4 minutes and 20 seconds to get absolutely lifted, shifted, and higher than the ceiling (you know the rest).

Abstract Hip-Hop, Trap | Love Me X The ClubCasa Chamber Orchestra (SuGar Edition)
Posted by mimada on March 19, 2014

Alright so I’ve got 17 minutes on my self-timer before my computer goes into lockdown and I’m forced to start writing my 10-page midterm essay, so I gotta make this brief. Just moments earlier I was tipped off about this French producer SuGar and upon listening just to his most recent upload, I was compelled to expose this hidden gem. This track is a bit of a remix inception so ima break it down for you here. It all started with Lil Wayne’s “Love Me” feat. Drake & Future, which was then adapted (almost the point of being unrecognizable!) by sly5thave, a Brooklyn jazz musician and producer (who has some incredible other jazz covers worth checking out), which also features The ClubCasa, a Brooklyn-based music collective. Then finally, SuGar got ahold of that, spun a little trap on that ish and sprinkled it with some Bun B “Draped Up” rhymes and voilà! You’ve got this dirty south, brassy trap joint that’s simply one of a kind. And I’ve got another 5 minutes left on my timer, just enough to hit replay. Enjoy ~
