Electro-House, Progressive House | Steve Aoki ft. Polina – Come With Me (Remixes)
Posted by Middy on February 19, 2013
The traveling entertainer / aspiring Olympic trampolinist / raver rafter / cake sniper, Steve Aoki has finally released the remix package for single with Polina “Come With Me”. The Pierce Fulton remix that was previewed a long time ago at last gets its release by Steve Aoki and the gang at Ultra Records with its quick electro bursts and driving bass line. The Jidax remix gets a rerelease from the Wonderland remix album and it is my favorite of the bunch with its blistering synths and punchy low end. Both Lazy Rich and up and comer Deorro put their own unique electro spin on the track with powerful grinding low ends. Doorly comes in with the heaviest interpretation of the track with bass heavy, growling dubstep remix.

Dubstep | Röyskopp & Susanne Sundfor – Running To The Sea (Protohype & Carnage Remix)
Posted by Middy on February 15, 2013
It takes something special for a dubstep track to really catch my ear and make me want to post it and this remix of Röyskopp & Susanne Sundfor’s recent single “Running To The Sea” has done just that. Protohype has been slowly building a name for himself with a steady output of electro and dubstep tracks over the past few years and Carnage has been a name people have really turned onto with his recent trap remixes, though he has a more diverse discography then just trap. This melodic dubstep remix starts smooth with the etheral vocals from Susanne Sundfor and soft piano and then drops into a 2 step dubstep breakdown with a grinding low end and alternating bass line mixed in. Do not sleep on either of these producers and especially not this track.

Dubstep | Underworld – Rez (Bassnectar Remix)

Did I tell you that this was an awesome week for releases, or did I tell you that this was an awesome week for releases? Add Lorin Ashton to the varsity roster of artists dropping bombs between February 11th and 15th. If you haven’t already taken his spacey, heady reboot of the tech-trance mindmelt that is “Rez” for a spin or two or twenty, now is the time to redeem yourself. Listening to this song is probably as close as we’re currently able to get to knowing what it’s like to be sucked through a wormhole. If that doesn’t sway you, this should: you know a track is something serious when Bassnectar uses it to usher in 2013 from the helm of a 360-degree LED pod (see above). “Rez” is out now on US iTunes and vinyl, if you’re into that, via Child’s Play Records.
Progressive House | Lift Off #008
Posted by Middy on February 9, 2013
Finally after a little longer than usual break, the 8th edition of Lift Off is here and as per usual we have packed it filled with gems. This Lift Off marks the first official contribution from our new author Malcolm or “Mel”, so look for more great tracks from him. The first track above is the vocal mix of Anakyn’s single “Point Black”, which previously saw a edit from Nicky Romero and adds another harmonic dimension to the track.
Beatport: Anakyn feat. Fabio Lendrum – Point Blank (Love Is Blind)
DubVision are among the best at coming up with progressive melodies and this remix of “Summertime” is no different. They stick to the same winning formula of “All By Myself”, “You & I” etc and deliver a peaktime, big room remix. Would like to see them switch it up a little, but for now it is working.
Paris Blohm delivers this emotional, uplifting track as a tribute to his sister who recently passed away. Female vocals add to the superb melody crafted by the young up and comer.
This remix from the Chainsmokers of Jonsi’s (singer of Sigur Ros) “Around Us” has been incredibly successful with its addictive melody and well placed stutters. This is a must have.
Dubstep | R-Rated #63

F3tch is not a highly known artist for most people, but take my word he is no amateur. Coming off of a EP release just a few months back he is still continuing on with the dark, heavy vibes that gave off through that EP. This freebie has a great use of samples and stays true to his dark style. Grab the free download HERE.
Jphelpz is another artist that stays true to the dark style of dubstep as well, and also just had a new EP released. This guy cranks out tunes like crazy, so if you are into his style I would suggest giving him a follow because he has plenty of tunes out and plenty on the way.
Oscillator Z has made a few appearances on R rated before, but he has been MIA for a while. It seems as though he was feeling very generous this week because he gay away two crazy bootlegs. The first is of Downlink – Gamma Ray Burst and the second is of Genetix – Squid Attack.
Dubstep | Will.I.Am. & Britney Spears – Scream and Shout (Dotcom Remix)
Posted by Juicebox on January 29, 2013
It’s always painful to come across a remix from an up and comer that you know is 100 times better than any of the official remixes released. Dotcom takes Will.I.Am. & Britney’s “Scream and Shout” and absolutely crushes this remix with a melodic dubstep makeover. Not only does this kid crush this remix, but he crushes every single track he touches. Please do yourself a favor and check this track out. You can find more from Dotcom on SoundCloud by clicking here.

Progressive House, Trance | Gabriel & Dresden vs. Sia – Breathe Me
Posted by Spice on January 26, 2013
Not too much to say about this one. Everyone knows “Breathe Me” by Sia — it’s a beautiful and authentically emotional song that cuts right to the core. San Francisco-based duo Gabriel & Dresden (who are no slouches in the remix department) give it a trancey, synthy facelift in this epic reboot and the end result is nothing short of amazing. While it’s probably not the most optimal track to begin your Saturday night with, it’s definitely something you’ll want to add to your music collection.
For maximum angst, double this up with Butch Clancy’s dark, riveting dubstep version. Not recommended for anyone who has recently gone through a breakup.
