Hip-Hop, RnB | Rising Toronto Artist Del Presents “A Sunset Special”

Posted by on September 30, 2019

Up and coming Toronto artist Del has released his latest EP “Del Presents: A Sunset Special”, a three-song “end of Summer” themed project that’s sure to leave listeners longing for the season gone by. The Nigerian born rapper draws on his multi-cultural upbringing to forge his own unique brand of Hip-Hop that steers away from the Trap and Emo rap trend. Instead, Del is busy creating his own upbeat sound with songs that are meant to leave people feeling good. “A Sunset Special” does exactly that – the warm vibes create a sonic experience that delivers Summery vibes and certified bangers.

Trap | Lana Del Rey – Ultraviolence (Y//2//K Remix)

I’m going to be perfectly honest, I have not listened to any of Lana Del Rey’s latest singles, I’m just not into her, but a few remixes have presented themselves to me, and this one in particular by Y//2//K trillifies the CT boarding school taught diva’s latest release “Utraviolence,” as if her and her producer downed a whole bottle of lean before recording it. I guess a little chop and screw can make anyone sound like a G, even Lana. For real though, this remix bangs so sit back and enjoy! This is a must listen and a must download!

Fresh in my inbox, this remix of Q-Tip’s “Work It Out” is going to make some noise and turn some heads, I already know. Unknown to most, but you’ve heard his productions, producing for the likes of Lana Del Rey & Banks, Stint is a Los Angeles/Vancouver producer highly sought after by the industry for his progressive sound and yet has managed to stay under the radar until now! This record is infectious, and does justice to the hip hop legend that is Q-Tip by revisiting this classic. This is a must listen hands down, and I guess we’ll wait for that download button!

Hip-Hop, Mixtapes | Vonny Del Fresco – After It All (EP)

Posted by on April 5, 2014

Over the course of the past few months, we have watched Vonny Del Fresco transform his raw potential (seen in, Noir Designer) to a sound completely his own and easily digestible by a wide array of listeners.

Del Fresco has just released After It All, a second EP in the seemingly connected series of short projects he has been putting out. In comparison to his previous project, After The Fall, After It All is incredibly more refined. From the production of Kingston, BNJMN and Cam Wallace all the way to the features of Dee Phresh and Carpe DM, Vonny Del Fresco is making it clear that he is not simply another rapper to get lost in the vast abyss of internet rap.

Enjoy Vonny’s signature distorted vocals, and unique social commentary throughout After It All.

Progressive House | Lana Del Rey – Born To Die (The Two Friends Remix)

If there is one thing that is lacking in the world of progressive house music, it would be Lana Del Rey remixes. You just don’t come across one too often. Have you ever heard a remix of “Born To Die”? I highly doubt so because there are like none. The Two Friends saw this vacancy in the market and filled it sensually with their very own remix. Guys, you know how sometimes you put stuff in other stuff but it seems kinda weird cause that’s where stuff also comes out of? That is essentially what Matt and Eli did with what was almost an official remix. It has a similar feel to many of their previous tracks in that it puts the vocals on display with a soft instrumental and then turns it up for the build and drop. This is the song many of their fans have been waiting for so if you happen to be one of them, enjoy.

Hip-Hop, Rap | Vonny Del Fresco – After The Fall (EP)

Posted by on January 30, 2014

It’s been a little while since I introduced you to the Milwaukee emcee, Vonny Del Fresco, and his anti-materialism anthem “Noir Designer”. Lucky for you, “Noir Designer” was just a single off of Vonny’s newest five-track EP, After The Fall. The project fills any room with its deep, hollowed out drums and distorted vocals, reminiscent of Yeezus.

The entire project is highly enjoyable, filled with not only sonically pleasing music, but also socially conscious content matter. Del Fresco’s unique perspective and life vision make for an unmatched listening experience that will have you anxiously awaiting the next twist or turn that it takes.

Hit play on my personal favorite “YNWD”, or set aside 18 minutes and 31 seconds to truly get an idea of who Vonny Del Fresco is as an artist, and the bright 2014 that I’m certain will be upon him.

Mixtapes | Vice & Vision – Ctrl + Alt + Del

Presented to me as “steaze from two steazy canadians”, here’s some really fresh hip hop for y’all getting sick of your day to day music. A duo from Edmonton, Canada, the two really know how to pick them. It was all in the instrumentals that really caught my attention, using beats from RJD2, Atu, Carmack, Vanilla, Moods & even more than that?!?! It was too good to be true. The mixtape features a unique array of songs, ranging from slappers to mellow-mooded melodies with original lyrics to reflect on. Download Ctrl + Alt + Del here for FREE.
