Events, Review, Trance | The Expedition’s Trance Takeover of Madison Square Garden
Posted by Middy on April 6, 2013
Wow, Wichita State is crushing Ohio State. This is not even close, who woulda thunk it. The bartender refills my glass as I watch the Shockers do just that, shock the basketball world and everyone’s bracket. Man was mine totally ruined, but at least I wasn’t the guy who picked georgetown to go all the way — dunk city. I look at my phone, 8:10. I am pushing the limit of how long I can stay at the bar because I need to get over to Madison Square Garden and sneak down past some security guards to a seat that isn’t in the obstructed view section. I close out and head over to the Garden to navigate the line and get inside.
The line is nonexistent, so I walk through and head up to the first level to probe the defenses of the seat security like a prized fighter trying to find the weak spot of my enemy. I see some other people dancing the same dance I am and as a group we would like to thank the kid in the teal tank who was escorted out of section 102 and left the entrance unguarded, letting the stream of approximately me and 4 other kids into the section. Thank you, because my seat put me dead center and I could see the entire arena laid out in front of me.
Progressive House | Eitro – Verve
Posted by Middy on February 15, 2013
Eitro put his name on the map last year with his single “True Story” and later in the year with his high powered electro track “Character” that became a bootleg favorite of many. Eitro shows off his melodic tendencies with an outstanding combined piano driven build with guitar riffs adding texture and a synth laden drop with well placed electro growls. If you want something more minimal and percussive, Kitsch 2.0 goes for a more stripped back drop that may make it the more popular of the bunch.

Trap | Kendrick Lamar – Swimming Pools (DJ Fresh Direct Turnt Up Bootleg)
Posted by Jess on February 11, 2013
DJ Fresh Direct reworks Kendrick Lamar’s hit single “Swimming Pools” into a turnt up monstrosity combining the song with Gents & Jawns’ “Turn Up”. Warning, this bootleg isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s starts off normal enough but then tranforms into a huge Trap banger.
House | Bruno Mars – Locked Out of Heaven (Solidisco Remix)

It was just about a year ago that Solidisco broke out in the scene with their bootleg of Rihanna’s smash hit “We Found Love”. Since then, they have built a solid following for themselves and their unique take on Disco House. The the save vein as their Rihanna remix, Solidisco lends their funky production to Bruno Mars “Locked Out of Heaven” creating a funky take on the hit record. From smooth synths to screaming guitars, this one is a must download. In addition, download their remix of Anjulie’s “You and I” that is equally great.

Bootleg, Mashups | Kap Slap – Bootie Bundle Volume 1
Posted by Juicebox on January 15, 2013
Well, Kap Slap, you did it again. You took all my favorite house tracks and made them that much better. Hat’s off to Kap Slap as usual. His latest project, entitled, “Bootie Bundle Volume 1” (a play on bootleg for those of you who didn’t catch that) might be his best release yet. Not only does the mixtape have 17 brand new tracks, but it features a wide array of genres of EDM tracks; some of his track selection may surprise you…in the best way possible. Below is my favorite track from the tape and a two click download link for the whole mixtape!

Progressive House | The XX – Fiction (Funkagenda Bootleg Re-Edit)
Posted by Middy on December 26, 2012
Britain native, Funkagenda has released his much requested bootleg, remix of The XX’s “Fiction” that had originally been slated for an official release, but now is being given out as a Christmas gift by himself and his label, Funk Farm. Funkagenda is able to capture impeccably the smooth, easygoing essence of the original, notably the ethereal guitar melody and build on that with a similar synth chord progression and a slow chugging bass line.
