Mainstream Remix | Katy Perry – The One That Got Away (Liam Keegan Radio Edit)
Posted by BIGLIFE on October 22, 2011
Liam Keegan is back with yet another signature mainstream remix. Per his usual sound, this Katy Perry remix builds into a bass thumping dance remix with plenty of decorative synths. If this is too corny for you, I’ve added an Above and Beyond remix as a bonus – check it out, its dope too!

Hip-Hop | David Dallas ft. Tayyib Ali & Kid Daytona – Feel Like Oasis
Posted by Grubeats on October 17, 2011
I was pleasantly surprised when I came across this track from New Zealand rapper, David Dallas, which features our boy Tayyib along with Kid Daytona. If you’ve ever wondered what oasis feels like, the Kiwi bred MC takes it back to ’95 to share his feeling of oasis. Like I said, this was the first time I’ve ever heard David Dallas and I’m feeling this guy. Crazy how he masks his accent then brings it back in for certain words. If you’re in NZed reading this, crack a Tui and spark a fern. Stay tuned for Dallas’ album, The Rose Tint, coming very soon!

Dubstep | Example – Last Ones Standing (Doctor P Remix)
Posted by BIGLIFE on October 5, 2011
Two killer dubstep posts in a row? One hilarious totally non-related video? I’m coming at you from all angles here. That’s what you should expect out of BIGLIFE – swinging for the fences and hitting it every time with princesses making fools of themselves by acting like…well… spoiled princesses and soft-core dubstep tracks that get you wetter than soft core porn. If you like Example as much as I do AND dig dubstep, you’re in for a treat. If this isn’t your cup of tea I’ve thrown in a unique ambient dubstep track with no lyrics – mashup artists and remixers pay attention that could be a gem to toy with. In fact first submission with that (can’t be brutal) gets a post.

Albums, Electro, House | Wolfgang Gartner – Weekend in America (album review)
Posted by Spice on September 21, 2011
Wolfgang Gartner’s first album dropped yesterday, and let me begin by saying: it does not disappoint. In fact, it’s pretty crazy. It goes hard, he keeps it interesting and creative by incorporating a lot of variety, and virtually every track is high energy in its own right. He manages to bring together catchy, progressive house melodies with glitchy, dynamic, and always heavy beats, for an overall sound that’s somewhere between Skrillex and Swedish House Mafia. While the blockbuster tracks have been out for a while — Space Junk; Illmerica — it’s still undoubtedly worth the download. Basically, this is the kind of thing you want to be dancing your face off to in a dark basement.
There are two different versions available — the “bonus track” version on iTunes, which, as the name suggests, features the bonus track Cognitive Dissonance (which dropped on Hot Topic’s website last week, of all places….rogue), and the extended version which can be found on Beatport. Anyone who really appreciates the unique sound that Wolfgang brings to his tracks will undoubtedly be best served by the longer mixes available for DL on Beatport, so take my advice and hit up the link below.

Hip-Hop | E-MAN – Gucci Gucci (prod. by Mysto and Pizzi)
Posted by GMONEY on September 1, 2011
E-MAN, who currently resides in Portland, started his career as a producer but quickly found that it wasn’t enough. E-Man took his passion for music to the next Level by adding a creative, original and lyrical swag to complement his production. His latest release is a remix produced by the budding production duo Mysto and Pizzi.

Dubstep | Loz Contreras – Sarajevo (Blackmill Remix)
Posted by BIGLIFE on August 11, 2011
Who says you can’t relax to dubstep? These first two tracks are somewhere in between “ambient” and the “melodic” dubstep I normally post. Be sure to cop the Blackmill remix before all of your friends! And for good measure I threw in a heavier track that remixes Basshunters massive hit, “All I Ever Wanted”. Our die hard bass heads should definitely give that one a listen, but don’t complain if it makes your ears bleed.

Well I popped my TurnTable.FM virginity tonight and I’ve got to admit, it felt better than I thought it would. The official room for FNT is “FreshNewTracks.com (Official Room)” (linked). I expect to see all you avid followers throwing down filthy beats while spinning in there. Since the room was dominated by Dubstep tonight, I’ve put together a post with some of the highlights. Special shout to Vitamin Z and NVRMD for tearing it up along side me for a few hours. These are all massiveeee dubstep BANGERS.
