DJ-Set, Progressive House, Trance | Rafael Frost – Channel 4
Posted by Middy on March 21, 2012
I have posted Rafael Frost in my now retired Trance Tuesday posts, (sorry people but GOOD free trance is almost impossible to find, especially on a weekly basis) and this is his latest single “Channel 4” out on Ferry Corsten’s, Flashover Recordings. This song has been supported by just about every major trance artist under the sun. He has a unique sound that is both incredibly melodic and hard hitting with a blend of house and trance. The formula has been championed by the likes of Arty and though I am not saying he is Arty, I think his style that combines trance and house so well with more of an emphasis on trance, could easily lead to an explosion of popularity for Rafael Frost, much like the explosion of popularity that happened for Arty in 2011. This may not be the song that does it, but I think that Rafael Frost has what it takes to become a star. He does not make that many songs, instead focusing on creating the best quality tracks possible and does not tour much, which hinders an artists ability to be seen. Either way 2012 should be a pivotal year for Rafael Frost. Also check out a preview of his upcoming remix of Boom Jinx & Daniel Kandi – Azzura on Enhanced Records. Also after the jump is Hard Rock Sofa’s Miami 2012 Podcast with the hottest songs out now and their upcoming collaboration with Swanky Tunes “Apogee”

Progressive House | Arty, Matisse & Sadko – Trio
Posted by Middy on March 5, 2012
Finally the day has come after months of being played out and being teased on various radio shows, Arty & Matisse & Sadko’s gem, “Trio” has been released. Matisse & Sadko are really making a name for themselves right now with their remix released yesterday and now with the release of “Trio”, they are quickly rising to the top in the progressive house genre. Arty is firmly planting himself as one of the most versatile Djs out there with his ability to make amazing trance and uplifting progressive house tracks, crossing genre boundaries and showing that an artist is not defined by genre, but rather to the music they make. This song is what you need to get you through the week into the weekend, so get this now.
Progressive House | M-3ox ft. Heidrun – Beating Of My Heart (Matisse & Sadko Remix)
Posted by Middy on March 4, 2012
I must edit my post yesterday about “Matisse & Sadko Monday” because this song has been released a day early and I could not be any happier. As first played by Arty in his essential mix, this song represents pure bliss, euphoria, happiness; it is simply an amazing song. The vocals combined with the production from Matisse & Sadko makes this easily one of the best songs of the year so far.

Progressive House | Dirty South & Those Usual Suspects feat. Erik Hecht – Walking Alone (Arty Remix)
Posted by Middy on February 15, 2012
Arty is simply amazing. He has found a way to find a transcend genre by being able to flawlessly transition between trance and house whenever he feels like and has found himself a niche right in the middle of the two genres, with a big room trance / progressive house employing euphoric piano samples perfect for clubs and festivals. You will find that vintage Arty piano in his remix of Dirty South’s anthem “Walking Alone” our number 6 song of 2011, with a great synth accompaniment, a well fashioned bass line and perfect use of Erik Hecht’s great vocals. Do not miss out on this amazing remix from Arty. As a bonus I included a quality remix of “Walking Alone” from Magnus & Timon. Do not skip this one.

DJ-Set, Events | Swedish House Mafia @ MSG 12/16/11
Posted by Middy on December 17, 2011
Last night was history, and millions of people around the world with 20,000 in attendance were able to witness Swedish House Mafia becoming the first electronic act to ever headline the historic Madison Square Garden and brought that place to another universe. There are simply no words to describe what happened at Madison Square Garden last night it was that good. Their stage presence was off the charts, the visuals and effects were unreal with fireworks (whaaaaat inside MSG!?!?!) and the song choice and mixing was outrageous. It was the true live experience with all 20,000 people in the crowd belting out the lyrics and melodies to all the songs with Tinie Tempah AND John Martin showing up to do vocals for “Miami to Ibiza” and “Save the World”. The only thing missing was Pharrel doing the vocal version of “One” and the roof may have come down. They played a bunch of upcoming stuff on Size and Axtone and possibly a new song of theirs at the very beginning that was incredible. Listening to this set does not do the night justice, only being there would be true justice to what happened last night, but enjoy this set because it was f*cking incredible. Tracklist after the jump.
UPDATED with a working stream and full video of show.
