2nd Generation Wu is back with their new single “Heaven on Earth (Light One)”. If you’re looking for great new hip-hop music, check this out.
2nd Generation WU is a music group formed by children of the Wu-Tang Clan. Led by the core of iNTeLL (son of U-God) and PXWER (son of Method Man), 2nd Generation WU has split off the Wu-Tang family tree and created a new branch. They pick up their own torch, lit from their parents, and blaze a trail all their own. They are not just children of the legendary hip-hop group. They have their unique sound.
After the success of their debut single “7.O.D”, iNTeLL & PXWER got back in session with the producer J.Glaze to craft another one. Trying to explore the greatest potential of their music, they set out to make a blend of music that would tap into a new vein yet to be fully fleshed out. And here comes “Heaven On Earth”, a dark jazzy boom trap uptempo vibe with a transitional chorus’ reminiscent of something heard from OutKast. As written in the hook, “Get up on that thing, in and out, are you breathin? Love fire stronger than a rock, baby dreamin. Twist a little, spend a little time with the right one. Heaven on Earth till we die, let’s light one.”
The producer J.Glaze, also wearing many hats as composer, recording engineer, and studio musician, takes the song up a level with his elegant trumpet solo as a beautiful third verse. The solo gives a breath to highly lyrical experience and allows the listeners to reflect on the lyrics they just received, leaving the song a quiet but endless aftertaste. With Artwork by Culture Freedom bringing everything together, this song won’t disappoint those looking for great new music.

GFTD’s latest release, “Legacy Drip”, is an in-your-face reminder of just how serious the Staten Island duo truly is. Acknowledging their Hip-Hop pedigree and oozing with confidence, the Wu-Tang progenies further establish their status as Hip-Hop royalty on this bouncy and futuristic track.
iNTeLL takes center stage, demanding constant attention and offering break-neck bars over distorted keys and hard hitting 808s. Combining humor and aggression, “Legacy Drip” is a candid representation of the up-and-coming emcee’s drive, aspirations, and effortless swagger. That being said, this track offers a more authentic insight into the young rapper’s mind than ever before, opening the door to a limitless stockpile of energy and creativity.
This reminiscent track brings with it futuristic undertones which present iNTeLL as a new link between the glory-days of the New York scene and the future. The verses are broken up by a hard-hitting chorus that is grounded in the 808 baseline and irregular flows distinguish each verse as unique in both style and sentiment. He jumps back and forth between compelling statements of self-confidence and clever anecdotes that put the up-and-comer’s creativity on full display. Conclusively, “Legacy Drip” doesn’t bank on the GFTD’s Wu-Tang legacy to be compelling but rather implements it as a reminder of their limitless potential.
