Drum & Bass | Dido – White Flag (Collin McLoughlin Remix)
Posted by BIGLIFE on June 24, 2014
We predicted that Collin McLoughlin was an artist to watch in 2014, and we weren’t wrong. Recently announcing his collaboration with Dash Berlin and Jay Cosmic titled “Here Tonight” releasing July 4th via Armada, Collin keeps the momentum going with his interpretation of Dido’s 2003 classic “White Flag” record heard round the world. Incorporating drum-n-bass elements into the original, Collin creates a sonic landscape all his own, continue to impress with his production and vocal abilities.
Review | RiFF RAFF – NEON iCON
Posted by BIGLIFE on June 19, 2014
I like RiFF RAFF. It’s no secret. And not in that ironic “hipster” way. I find him infinitely fascinating, and can’t help but cheer for him. Sure, he’s polarizing. Many love him and many hate him. What you have to respect about RiFF RAFF is that he’s not afraid to be his own man. He’s original, hilarious, full of contradictions, and isn’t afraid to live outside the box.
He’s come a long way since his first appearance on “G’s To Gents”. Many dismissed him as a novelty artist, destined to make laughable cameos on World Star. Strangely, Diplo discovered his videos, signed him, and here we are. Come June 24th, RiFF’s appropriately titled “NEON iCON” album drops via Mad Decent, and is arguably the most heavily anticipated record to release in 2014.
RIFF RAFF’s brand of hip-hop is a friendly one. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, which is a large part of the appeal. There’s something for everyone in RIFF’s music, which is a large reason why he’s been so successful up to this point. Somehow, his music is enjoyed by impressionable young white female teenagers, hip-hop purists, and people who write for Vice and hang out in Brooklyn.
Progressive House | Arias – Deepfield
Posted by Middy on June 7, 2014
It is remarkable what Arias has been able to put together in these past two years. Tunes like “Majoris”, “Andromeda” and “Solar” are all one of a kind incredible and you can add his first single of 2014, “Deepfield” to that mix as well. The first vocal track from the Parian in a MINUTE, Arias brings that signature big progressive sound that s found in so few records today. Even bigger for Arias is his record on Size Records, “Footsteps” with Greg Ceronne, which Steve Angello has been playing heavily ever since Ultra. Watch out for the renaissance of Arias.

Progressive House | September – Cry For You (Live City Remix)
Posted by Middy on May 3, 2014
2014 is starting to shape up into something great for Live City. They have already unleashed a boatload of free remixes, in addition to some tunes on Tommie Sunshine’s Brooklyn Fire Records & The Disco Fries Liftoff Recordings. The duo continue to write more and more music and it is starting to pay off with approving looks from big labels coming. They tide us over with this remake of an absolute jam, September’s “Cry For You” giving it the upbeat melodic energy that is fit for present day, while still paying proper homage to its brilliance.
