DJ-Set, Progressive House | Hardwell Essential Mix
Posted by Middy on November 24, 2012
Hardwell made his debut on the legendary essential mix last night and put his name in contention for essential mix of the year. As head of Revealed Records, he showcases the recent releases of his well established label, while giving us a glimpse at what is to come with 13 unreleased tracks in the mix, including his single “Apollo” set to release in two days. He has gotten into some hot water for it, but Hardwell is known for his bootlegging and he displays it during this mix. He takes us back through his rather extensive catalog, mixing together track after track in this jam packed two hour essential mix debut. Tracklist after the jump.
DJ-Set, Trap | Silver Medallion – XNX Vol. 2 [DJ Mix]
Posted by Jess on November 18, 2012
Need your Trap fix for the night? Well, Silver Medallion has got you covered with his latest installment of his XNX DJ mix series. Comprised of some of the biggest recent Trap hits and some more obscure gems, this mix is not one to miss if you are into Trap music. Listen and download below.
“There comes a moment in every young New York City man’s life when he wakes up in an apartment he doesn’t recognize, far nicer than his own. It’s 1pm, he may have missed his job shift, he may not remember the night before, he’s a little put off by waking up somewhere so beyond his means, he’s sweating out Jameson and promoter vodka, and he looks over and thinks he’s in love. The girl from last night, prettier than she was in the dark lights, rolling up a dutch, smiling in something small. Our hero loses sight of all around him, the day turns to a week, then three, before he starts asking the questions he should have asked day one… Does she work? How does she afford the apartment? Why are their so many prescriptions? How does she know Brett “Daddy” David? Are she and Cody Bespoke just friends? Do we have to end up at 1OAK at 4am every weeknight? This isn’t your grandmother’s Alice In Wonderland, this is Xanaxland.” – Silver Medallion

DJ-Set, House | Weekend Mixes 11/15/12
Posted by Middy on November 15, 2012
It is that time of the week again. With rivalry weekend and its impending debauchery coming to many campuses across the nation, here are some mixes to keep the party going from sun up to sun up. We start things off with The Drop and their episode this week that features a guest mix from one of the drunkest DJs on twitter, Maor Levi. Next up we have the Bingo Players’ monthly radio show, Hysteria Radio that features exclusive mashups and their latest single “Out Of My Mind“. Together We Are from Arty has been a great addition to the radio show circuit this year and already in its 20th episode, it continues to showcase lesser known tracks and put together a different and excellent tracklist. Swanky Tunes give their monthly Showland podcast with a guest mix from the Nicky Romero and a whole host of unreleased tracks. The rest of the sets are from Tritonal, Diplo, Steve Angello (short one), Hot Mouth, & Thomas Gold. Tracklists and more sets after the jump.
DJ-Set | Sensation: Denmark Review/Full DJ-Sets
Posted by CHAZZZ on November 12, 2012
Please, please, please, do yourself a huge favor and pull out your bucket list, to-do list, or whatever you have. Cross out all the other items and write this on the top row, in big, bold letters: See a Sensation concert.
I love live music, so I’ve been to many concerts and festivals over the years in the United States. Many of them have been amazing, but Sensation in Copenhagen, Denmark just blew all my past concert experiences out of the water. If you’re not familiar with Sensation, it is a massive all-night electro/house event where everyone is required to wear white.
Last Weekend, I arrived to Parken Stadium a bit early to make sure to be able to catch all five DJs on the lineup for the night (Mr. White, Riva Starr, Man With No Shadow, Sharam and Sander Van Doorn). Despite the near-freezing weather, two hours before the doors had even opened the streets were completely packed with people creatively dressed head-to-toe in all white.
All of the friendly Danish people seemed to know the routine: pregame early, and get ready to rage until 3am. I’ve learned a lot while I’ve been abroad, but one of the main things that sticks out no matter what country I’m in is this: Europeans can party. I’ve never seen anything like it. Europeans have the ability to make us (Americans) look like 60 year olds ready for a jazz festival in the local park…

DJ-Set | Weekend Mixes 11/8/12
Posted by Middy on November 8, 2012
This week we have an outrageous amount of mixes. There is music for days. Not really, more for hours, but you get the point. We start things off with Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman’s weekly radio show and their upbeat selection and melodic mixing, which is an element that is missing from many podcasts. Next up our friends over at The Drop had Tritonal on for an interview and for guest mix duties in a trance heavy episode. Avicii just released the 8th episode of his Levels podcast, which featured the vocal version of “Nicktim”, which to be pretty honest is pretty awful and gave the radio premier of Henrik B’s upcoming track “Voices”, which in contrast is outstanding. Much like the label itself, Fool’s Gold Radio brings you an incredibly eclectic tracklist and with A-trak on the decks, the mixing is through the roof. The rest of the mixes come from Walden, Laidback Luke, and another from The Drop. Tracklist as always are after the jump.

He moves through unreleased tracks like the Bingo Players’ upcoming track “Out Of My Mind” and Daddy’s Groove “Stellar”. He takes you on a journey through his rather extensive discography, mixing and mashing them with countless other tracks making the absolute most of his 2 hours. Tracklist after the jump.
