Albums | Mokita’s “Colorblind” Has a Bright Message
Posted by VMan on November 4, 2019
Nashville based singer/songwriter Mokita’s new single “Colorblind” has a hint of the emo rock era in it, and I love that. On top of that major influence, there is still his electronic-meets-pop sound engulfed throughout the track and always makes fans come back to listen. The song’s context and lyricism is based around Mokita’s experience with depression growing up and how he is able to process and cope with it during good times and bad. Another beautiful ballad from Mokita in the books. I personally prefer these ballads compared to some of his more EDM styled tracks in the past, so hoping for more stuff in this realm come 2020. Albums | Two Can & Martyn Ell Connect For “Gonna Be”
Posted by VMan on October 8, 2019
Australian brother duo Two Can have returned to dropping new tunes after a brief hiatus. The guitar used throughout “Gonna Be” is emotional and melancholy, as are the rest of the vibes of the original single. The lyrics depict an indecisive, open-ended relationship that would confuse anyone involved in it. As the calming production gradually swells up around Martyn Ell’s top line the hook sets in to an irresistibly catchy space that flows into a call and response with the lead synth that will be stuck in your head for days to come. Check out “Gonna Be” featuring Martyn Ell above now!

It’s not often you find songs like this. “Prodigy” is by a Jewish hip hop artist who goes by the name of Myles Reed. We can already tell this song is going to be important. The dynamics keep us on our toes. The creativity is palpable. Definitely adding this one to my playlist rotation. Turn up the volume and vibe out.

Albums | SHDWS UNVEILS NEWEST CLUB WEAPON

San Francisco based producer and DJ, shdws, recently unveiled his newest house track, “One More Night.” Yet another artisanal craft from the heart of deep creativity, shdws maintains a theme of deep bass lines, and glooming sound design. My favorite design aspect of “One More Night” is the spooky beat he’s crafted and layered with female vocals of ambiguity that speak lines like “pour your gasoline all over me.” Definitely going in some club rotations soon. Find “One More Night” on Soundcloud or Spotify for streaming and free download here.
