Albums | Tate McRae’s Debut EP is Something Special

Posted by on January 24, 2020

Tate McRae hails from Calgary, Canada after living in Oman until she was 6 years old. She made a name for herself as a competitive dancer placing second runner up on Season 13 of the FOX series So You Think You Can Dance, achieved the “The Best Dancer” honor three times at the prestigious Dance Awards, and hit the stage for performances on Ellen, The Teen Choice Awards, and beyond. Now she has pivoted from dancing to Pop music and is coming in hot. The up and coming star released her debut EP ‘all the things I never said’ last month via RCA Records. With previously released tracks that did some big streaming numbers such as “tear myself apart,” “all my friends are fake,” and “stupid” she also added on two unreleased jams that sound great. For me, the stand out track of the EP is “that way” or “all my friends are fake” but do yourself a favor, tune in above and sound off in the comments on your personal favorite!

JayKode and SubDocta, these are two names you should know if you’re into bass music. Recently the two dropped their jaw-dropping collaboration called “Red Alert” on Kannibalen Records. JayKode has always been a stand out producer when it comes to sound design and musicality which works well with the more wonky style of SubDocta. “Red Alert” is just what you need to end the year with, so make sure to add it to your party playlists for this Winter break!

Albums | Midoca Shares Emotional EP “Dry The Rose”

Posted by on November 21, 2019

An open testament to modern relationships and the struggles in conforming to them, Midoca’s EP is reflective and sincere. After losing an important relationship some years back, Midoca began his pursuit of understanding his personal shortcomings, and Dry The Rose is his mellifluous tale of just that: “I’ve spent a few years now in therapy learning about myself and what led me to having the perspective I had of myself and what I was deserving of.”

Five honest tracks serve as the LA-based creative’s growth and becoming. A search for vulnerability and understanding, Dry The Rose is Midoca’s personal promise of letting go and learning. Lyrically, the EP stands as an explorative piece of different experiences with love and relationships. Traversing motifs of love, love lost, and ultimate understanding, Midoca’s story is rooted in growth from start to finish.

London-based DJ and producer duo Sondr rework Eiffel 65’s ‘Blue’ on their new single ‘So Blue’, out 11th October via Ultra. With its hushed lyrics and polished electronic elements, ‘So Blue’ is a sultry, progressive take on ‘Blue’.

Originally working separately as songwriters and producers with artists such as Lana Del Ray , Meghan Trainor , Ella Eyre and Conor Maynard , Sondr first united on ‘Surviving’ , a debut single that became gold-certified. They quickly followed this up with ‘Live Love Learn’, a single with Swedish Grammy ‘New Artist of the Year’ winner Peg Parnevik , which also went gold. Since then they have amassed over 100 million streams, including collaborations with Lenny Kravitz and Felix Jaehn. A modern take on a bona fide 90s classic, ‘So Blue’ simply can’t help but delight, it’s a must listen

Albums | Juuku and Squired Join Forces on “Reaching For U”

Posted by on November 5, 2019

“Reaching For U” by Juuku and Squired is a slow burning collaborative effort by the two rising producers that glistens. I’ve ran through this one a handful of times already and the replay value is crazy. The top line via Chloe Tang is almost as mesmerizing as the production. Tune in to “Reaching For U” above!
