Albums | Listen to Namywa’s emotional & cinematic track, “Sober”

Posted by on August 12, 2022

Hailing from Birmingham, UK soulful singer/songwriter Namywa returns with her new single “Sober” and it’s fantastic. The song has cinematic production and an overall powerful soundscape to the track that reminded me a lot of the late and great Amy Winehouse, who is one of Namywa’s major influences alongside Diana Gorden, Yebba, Paloma Faith, Lauryn Hill, and Jill Scott. The old school vibe on this one is special!

Albums | ABRACADABRA by Sasha Chaa is a fun & feel good listen

Posted by on August 12, 2022

Bilingual North African musician Sasha Chaa has released a new summer soaked track via “ABRACADABRA.” The song’s production is lead by Amapiano (African drums), pianos, strings, with slick Pop and R&B undertones. This is the first time I’ve heard of this artist so I was pleasantly surprised by the newly discovered artist. Lyrically, “ABRACADABRA” talks about how she’ll walk away from love that isn’t reciprocated, which is a fully understandable message that will resonate with most listeners. The hook for this one is stuck in my head and likely will be for the next few days! Check it out above.

Albums | Erica-Cody Drops new song “Love Like This”

Posted by on August 12, 2022

Irish singer/songwriter Erica-Cody returns with the catchy, Ariana Grande influenced single “Love Like This”. The rising artist continues to establish herself as a rising star in the Pop space with her lush vocals and feel-good production. Co-written by Richey McCourt, the song began to come to life after Erica’s stint on Dancing With The Stars, capturing intrusion into her private life as a public figure, with brilliant poise and grace.  Check out a quote from Erica-Cody on her new single below and check out “Love Like This” above!

“Sometimes it’s hard to not listen to the outside noise and people’s opinions, especially when it comes to something I find so sacred like relationships. Love Like This was my first song I wrote coming out of a writing hiatus while taking part in ‘Dancing with the stars’. Being on such a beast of a tv show, suddenly anything I did, or anyone I spent time with was put under a microscope & assumptions grew from there.”

Long Term Parking is an expansive musical project by three veteran musicians looking to broaden their horizons. The bands fluid style combines elements of hip hop, rock and alt-pop into a unique sound that also draws influences from classical and folk music. Check out the music video for “King E” by Long Term Parking above now and below this article check out a quote from the band on their new release!

“King E.’ is the oldest song on the record, but ironically ended up being the closer. It took a lot of work to make everything sound casual. The song has a very specific structure that is remotely inspired by a baroque rondo. ‘King E’. is an example of what we’re trying to do, namely look for bridges and create collages. We try to connect things that are seemingly unrelated in the most natural way. The lyrics of the song describe the way your inner world expands into your real life.”
