Albums | cln releases new LP, ‘Over, All Again’
Posted by VMan on December 16, 2022
Over the last few months Australian artist cln has released a grip of well crafted music — all of which to build hype and anticipation for second album ‘Over, All Again’. The 12-track release is filled with groovy tunes, all of which can be streamed now above. Enjoy!
“This album represents a real sonic shift for me. I don’t think it sounds anything like my previous work, and it is a big mix of sounds and genres. The album is also representative of the changes in my life over the last few years since Dawn Chorus was released.
One of the biggest changes between albums is my shift towards work in acoustic research. I spend a lot of my time trying to solve environmental and ecological problems using sounds and artificial intelligence. I mostly work on birds, and spend a lot of time in remote places deploying recorders. I hear some incredible soundscapes when I am out there, and they heavily inspire my work.
Throughout the album, you will hear scattered recordings of interesting sounds that I come across in my travel. I have some really cool stuff in there: Powerful Owl, Noisy Pitta, Marbled Frogmouth, Albert’s Lyrebird, and a bunch of other rare and interesting species. I have kept them quite subtle, so as not to overpower the songs, but I love that they are nestled in there. I think natural noises are about as beautiful as it gets, and they are my biggest inspirations for making music.
I have tried to make this album cohesive and unique. I have not tried to stick to any templates or genres. I have essentially just made music that I think sounds cool. If it resonates with others too, then that is a huge bonus and I find it a huge privilege that there are people taking time to listen to my work. I hope you enjoy it. Listen to it from start to finish if you can, preferably on a car ride to a beautiful unspoiled place. When you get there though, I encourage you to take out the headphones and enjoy the natural sounds instead.” ~ cln

Albums | K. Noble Shares New Album Painkillers
Posted by VMan on December 15, 2022
Karl Nobles, better known as K. Noble, is an artist on the rise from the southside of Chicago. He debuted on the music scene in 2020 and has dropped a series of well-received releases since then, including his debut album, Life is Pain, last year. The rising rapper is keen to continue his growing momentum and upward trajectory with the release of his new album, Painkillers, which is out now.
K. Noble is a huge fan of battle rap, which has allowed him to hone his skills on the mic, including learning different flow patterns, styles of delivery and freestyling. And all of this talent is evident throughout Painkillers, which is 12 tracks of straight-up authentic rap music that all hip-hop and rap enthusiasts will be able to appreciate. The album also features current single “Different Sh**”, which arrives alongside a compelling music video.
Speaking further on the new album, K. Noble says, “The inspiration for the album actually came from my second album, Life is Pain. Life is Pain was about enduring pain and overcoming overwhelming obstacles – during the entire recording process of that album, I was facing a serious health challenge. This new album, Painkillers, is about relieving pain and healing. It was during the recording process that the healing process began for me physically and mentally.
“One of the main things that makes this project stand out to me is the fact that it’s a concept album and there is a story and a theme behind it. I feel that one of the most creative things that an artist can do is tell a story with music, and with this project that’s what I was able to do.”
Albums | Connor Kauffman Cuts Through With “Bleed”
Posted by Juicebox on December 13, 2022
In the over played “pop punk” come back spearheaded by the likes of MGK and tiktok stars, it’s not often you’ll find someone doing something new and special in that world. Yet, Connor Kauffman is bringing a breathe of fresh air with his new sound. Connor’s toplines and vocals lean much more pop while the tracks feel grungy and rock leaning. It doesn’t have the generic pop punk melodies, but sits adjacent to the world living in his own little pocket. Music is not the only unique thing about Connor Kauffman, he also eats McDonalds 7 days a week, has a puppy golden retriever, and plays a role on the production side as well. The song is catchy and fresh so get ready to have this one on repeat.

Albums | RETROFITTED Share New Single “Never Ending Party”
Posted by VMan on December 7, 2022
RETROFITTED are a group of six artists (OJ Stinz, BFlow, YBE, OKJ, Pax Armani, and Big Carlo) with diverse backgrounds and tastes based in Arizona, US. With that in mind, the music they produce covers a wide range of styles rooted in hip-hop. “This allows each song to be a unique listening experience and ensures that no matter your taste in music or your mood, we will have a song ‘retrofitted’ to your desires”, says OJ Stinz. Although they only started releasing music as a group earlier this year, they’ve already got off to a flying start and made a strong impression after several singles and EPs over the last few months.
Keen to keep the ball rolling, the group have just unveiled their brilliant new single, “Never Ending Party”. The track is a great example of their versatile sound, with its incorporation of hip-hop, electro and pop recalling the likes of The Weeknd, Tyler, The Creator and Childish Gambino. Standing out immediately with a dark and retro dance soundscape, a mesmerising hook and the group’s dynamic vocals, it’s a must-hear track and another sublime entry into their early discography. The song is enhanced further by an equally impressive accompanying music video directed by Connar Tandy.
“This was one of the first beats I fell in love with starting off, but I could never figure out what I wanted to do with it. I would listen to it for hours on repeat, but the words just weren’t coming. One night I was reflecting on the feeling of being stuck in a cycle of partying religiously to the point that it wasn’t even fun anymore and then it all materialized. This song in many ways is like my baby. It started off as just an idea and then became fleshed out in the writing process. It flourished in the studio while recording and finally was fully visualised via the music video. As a whole it serves as a bright spot in one of the darker times in both BFlow’s and my life.” – OJ Stinz
Albums | Ches Barrow releases single “Wild” to be featured in ITVBe TV Campaign
Posted by VMan on November 16, 2022
Following the release of her debut EP, ‘Girl Who Ruled The World’, Ches Barrow returns with the immense single ‘Wild’. The talented songwriter wrote the track having been approached for a major luxury beauty TV commercial on ITVBe for her luxury beauty brand, Ches Editions (she’ll also be starring in the commercial).
When speaking about ‘Wild’, Ches said: “I of course wrote it with the aesthetic and vibe of the ad in mind; envisioning a fashion-runway edge with the models doing their thing and a low-key ‘luxury beauty’ depth. But it also is absolutely naturally an extension of my artistic-style and musical growth. The lyrics (‘I shake my hair’) attest to Ches Editions’ ‘hero product’ being featured: The Ultimate Oil for Hair. The product and brand is about ‘clean luxury beauty’ and goes against the grain of its competitors; existing as 100% Natural with zero synthetic ingredients. The song encapsulates this fearlessness.”
Produced by Ches, mixed by Grammy and Emmy Award-Winning Carl Glanville (U2, Jason Mraz, Joan Jett, Counting Crows) and mastered by Chris Gehringer (Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa, Rihanna, Avril Lavigne), the track without a doubt empowers you to have confidence within yourself mirrored in its impressive production. Ches, who’s previously received support from the likes of Earmilk, Wordplay and Fame Magazine, openly sings about her experiences, while showcasing her effortless voice:
“My dream has always been about the songwriting and it feels so gratifying to have finally got to a place where I allowed myself to believe in me so much and the result of the production is something I’m truly proud of. This is the culmination of my so-far life’s work to fruition; my growth as an artist and person is in the ‘fearlessness of ‘Wild’; and that it’s going to be in the commercial for my brand that I’ve also worked so hard for and has such a vital message, is everything. I’m here for all of what believing in myself as an Artist brings”
With her relatable songwriting and sync so soon after her debut EP, Ches’s signature songwriting and stamp continues to be heard.
