Dubstep, Trap | Skrux – Escapade

Posted by on March 8, 2014

Skrux is killin’ it with the lovetrap! “Escapade” is an original track which could be called something like melodic trap. Emotions run strong in the vocal samples chosen and chord progression. The chords crescendo into a melody that will stick with you long after listening, and Skrux threw in a surprise around 3:50. I’m happy to see Skrux getting more recognition lately. He clearly deserves it. Grab this one for free!

Dubstep | Deathcab for Cutie – Transatlanticism (Collin McLoughlin Remix)

Posted by on February 26, 2014

Collin McLoughlin
Collin McLoughlin is the king of melodic dubstep. There’s no question about it. He can write. He can produce. He can sing. He can even DJ. What does the guy not do at this point? When we heard he was releasing a “Transatlanticsm” remix we didn’t know what to think. What Collin’s come up with here is serious business. Not only is this remix beautiful, we’ve heard rumor that a huge collaboration is in the works. There’s no question that Collin’s star is quickly rising. Keep an eye out for our exclusive FreshNewTracks.com interview with him coming next week.

Dubstep | Boss Miller – Don’t Stand Still (Unlimited Gravity Remix)

Posted by on February 12, 2014

New dubstep is always fun to find. Unlimited Gravity just released this melodic remix of Boss Miller’s track “Don’t Stand Still”. “Don’t Stand Still” is the title track for Boss Miller’s upcoming album. Unlimited Gravity’s version has some sick growls, and the vocals are ear pleasing to say the least. Jumpy synths and low rumbling bass complete the superb medley of sounds. This track is up for free download if it suits your fancy!

Dubstep, Progressive House | Denzal Park & Dave Winnel – The Great Valley

Posted by on February 9, 2014

Denzal Park & Dave Winnel - The Great Valley
A trio of under rated producers from down under come together to create something that is very different for both parties. They have become known for their clubby, progressive house, and with “The Great Valley” they keep some of that sound, but go for something a little more mellow and different. They eschew the trend of big drops and go for something more soothing, with long melodic segments that almost act as though they are narrating some epic journey, only to be interrupted by a Seven Lions-esque dubstep bridge. It is great to see artists experiment outside of their comfort zone, and even better to see it work and it does here in “The Great Valley”.

Dubstep | Crywolf & Ianborg – Stay

Posted by on February 5, 2014

Whenever I see Crywolf or Ianborg put out a new track I already assume it’s going to be beautiful. Seeing those two names together definitely made me excited to take a listen, and I was not disappointed. Melodic dubstep with emotional vocals sets the stage for “Stay”, a new single from the two creative artists. The track still has enough bass to please bass lovers like myself, and clearly these guys are no strangers to making gorgeous melodies. I can hear the styles of each artist loud and proud in this single, and it makes for a truly high quality piece.

Dubstep | Fareoh – Run Away

Fareoh - Run Away

Though Fareoh has become known for his more melodic progressive house with his latest original, Ian Spurrier, Fareoh takes a welcome foray into the realms of dubstep and crushes it. The tune was first previewed as freebee last year with the vocals from Lady Gaga demo’s version of “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe” layered on top. That release always had an unfinished feel and it was made apparent from the title and the way it was released that it was not the last we would see of the “ID”, now sitting in front of you as “Run Away”. And if you were wondering if the triangles in Fareoh’s cover art means he is illuminati, he definitely is and so were the Egyptians.

Dubstep | Jaymes Young – Moondust (Sound Remedy Remix)

Posted by on January 20, 2014

I love coming across a good Jaymes Young remix because the vocals are absolutely gorgeous, and the original is awesome. Sound Remedy never disappoints with a melodic dubstep remix to pull on your heartstrings. This one has chopping bass, and some fresh drums. The buildups in this track are top quality. He gives the vocals enough focus to where he doesn’t overpower them, but clearly adds his signature sound to the song. Grab this one for free!
