Hip-Hop | Friendzone & Main Attrakionz

Main Attrakionz mixed in with the production of Friendzone has really made for something special yet again. This duo has had the same affect on me as did Drake & 40’s So Far Gone the way each project is packaged so purely unique and timeless. Sure they may not relate but times change as do the fresh sounds we embrace, define as new, and evolve from.
Friendzone’s melodies are so incredible that the vocals tend to come partially after your ears are consumed by the lush atmosphere of his instrumentals. Its as if the beats take on a life of there own and feature the artists, truly a fascinating thing. In a lot of ways reminding me of indie how the vocals come across in a very dream-like kind of way, as if you have the option to make sense of them or not.
I’ve decided to keep this post strictly Hip Hop so I’ve excluded the tape from download simply because there is only a few tracks with vocals, and these three below are indeed the best of the best compressed out of it. I may not be recognized for the schizophrenic insanity that Mach and Sev supply you with daily but this video above was just way to precious for me to pass up on (LMFAO @0:56). I can only pray this does not become a trend, 2012 – what a ride this is going to be.

As the snow begins to fall here in Canada indie tends to fade from my playlist because of how summer oriented the sounds are. My sympathy goes out to you fortunate ones still occupying a warm climate, I feel your pain. After the positive response of last months Indie Thursday I took it upon myself to compile another collection of my favorite indie tracks of today. The more you like and comment on these indie posts equals the amount of energy I put into making them so feedback is nice.

I’m highly anticipating this preview above. Anyways, the entire blogosphere slipped up and got the wrong version of Tim Mason’s version of Pressure, that was not about to happen here. Alesso will have forever claimed this track but still Tim Mason’s take is a calm refreshment. Feel the sound.

Trance | Cosmic Gate, meHilove, Dinka, & EDU

Since listening to meHilove’s Ukraine Mix months ago, I’ve been obsessed with progressive trance and have been eagerly awaiting the release of meHilove’s hit track ‘Daylight’ featured below. You are not about to be disappointed with these progressive trance jewels. Earlier today, as I walked in the rain navigating through space, all I could think of was how dream-like these sounds were.
You won’t find too many songs with vocals on my playlist. I don’t fancy having to make sense of voices during my leisure time. I’d much rather throw on some progressive trance that helps me escape from my perceived reality – that transports me into another dimension. It is in this alternate realm that these sounds remind me that there is nothing worth remembering. One has to feel the sound as opposed to trying to understand it.
These tracks will always remain timeless in my collection and really show me the difference between the songs I like versus those I love. Maybe our love for music is subconsciously trying to tell us the significance of sound beyond our wildest dreams – maybe it keeps the universe from flying apart. Certainly it’s a passion we all share, like a heartbeat.

Progressive House | Adele – Someone Like You (Mikael Weermets Rework)

As previously posted months ago the final version has now become available of Mikael Weermet’s take on Adele’s hit single Someone Like You. It’s a great finale to this segment of Adele remixes, and certainly takes the title of being the best.
