Hip-Hop, Rap | YalaMusiq – La La La (ft. Beau Young Prince)
Posted by admin on January 19, 2014

As of late it seems that my music tastes have been heavily shifting towards the melody-heavy sounds of deep house and chillwave music. However, my heart still lies in hip-hop, so when I find a song that is able to combine all the elements that I am growing more fond of with those of rap, I am one happy camper.
Beau Young Prince is a native of Washington, D.C. and although he’s been in the music game for a minute, these next few months should be big ones. We have already begun to see his groovy sounds spread beyond the DMV roots, and with stellar music like this, I see no limits for how much it can grow. Enjoy “La La La” and go check Beau on Twitter to stay updated!
Hip-Hop, Rap | Vonny del Fresco – Noir Designer
Posted by admin on January 12, 2014
With the sheer volume of new rappers emerging every day, it never ceases to amaze me how small the hip-hop community actually is. The interconnectivity of all us youngins’ once again came around full circle when “Noir Designer” graced my inbox earlier this week. Although I was familiar with Vonny del Fresco, I never had sat down and truly listened to what he had to offer.
The distorted voice and harsh passion he brings with every line, helps del Fresco paint a vivid picture of a woman caught up in the materialistic glitz and glamour. The almost-satanic sounding song is the antithesis of a typical ballad. As del Fresco explains,
“Noir Designer” tells the tale of a night’s encounter with a female living in a materialistic world, feeding off of greed inspired by her surroundings.
A beautiful exterior disguises inner ugliness.
The finer things allow her to feel secure, indulgence in excess–drugs, sex, sparkling nights–helps her cope.
She meets someone who understands her urges–a man who wants nothing more than to use her in exchange for giving her everything she desires.
A powerful message put forward in a strikingly blunt and confrontational manner is all summed up with a thought-provoking question: Is this modern love?
Hip-Hop, Rap | GoldLink – The Heart
Posted by admin on January 7, 2014
GoldLink is really pressing his luck with his most recent release entitled, “The Heart”. Anyone with a halfway decent taste in music knows that Kendrick Lamar absolutely annihilated this beat on his mixtape Overly Dedicated a few years back. That being said, GoldLink absolutely held his own, and spit some introspective bars that give us a much better idea of the street life and family struggles that he was going through.
Although “The Heart” will not be featured on GoldLink’s upcoming project The God Complex it will surely keep us on our knees begging for more. Enjoy.
Hip-Hop | YoAstrum – A Day’s Worth
Posted by admin on January 7, 2014

While perusing my SoundCloud stream I recently stumbled upon an emcee I was previously unacquainted with: YoAstrum. The New Jersey resident caught my attention with his unique voice and ability to lace a Mr. Carmack production with such grace. The instrumental was an absolute gem to begin with, so it was safe to say that I was initially nervous to hear whether or not it was done justice. Thankfully, it was, and thus began my thirst for YoAstrum music.
Keep up on Twitter and let me know what you think of the song. Stay tuned for much more in the near future!
Hip-Hop, Mixtapes, Rap | Ride Or Die (Playlist)
Posted by admin on January 6, 2014
The Peachy Playlisters are back yet again, this time to ring in the new year with the most thugged-out, racked-up mix you have ever heard. Filled to the brim with 42 certified bangers, this playlist is great for the car, the hood, the kitchen, etc.
If you are a fan of: Travi$ Scott, A$AP Ferg, Meek Mill or Kendrick Lamar chances are that you will be a fan of this playlist. However, I can’t promise anything so you’re going to have to give a listen for yourself and tell me what you think. Now I could bore you with how this playlist is going to blow your eardrums out and make you want to go rob a Hallmark store with your grandma, but I won’t.
So folks, enjoy, and see you soon.
Hip-Hop, Rap | Alex Jordahl – Go Away (Video)
Posted by admin on December 28, 2013
It’s been a while since we’ve seen the young Chicago emcee, Alex Jordahl up here on Fresh New Tracks. Jordahl has been off at school perfecting his sound, and craft while we’ve been anxiously awaiting some new music. “Go Away” is unlike almost all of what we’ve heard out of Jordahl thus far in his career. The somber, heavily-produced track is a ballad of a lost lover and the trippy visuals add in a whole other level of depth.
I highly recommend giving the video and song a try, and let Alex know what you think!
Hip-Hop | Top 10 Hip-Hop Albums of 2013
Posted by admin on December 20, 2013

Ah, yes. It’s that time of the year again and although I’m sure your iTunes and Spotify playlists have been inundated with “Top Albums, Videos, Remixes, Puppy GIFS” etc. I figured, “why not add to the mix?”
With that go get ’em attitude in my mind, let me lay out some ground rules for how I decided and debated on this list. First off, this is the top hip-hop albums of 2013, that means no “Acid Rap”, no “Blue Chips”, no “1017 Thug”. There will be a list and a time for those to make their appearance, however, this collection of projects is strictly for artists who released their music in the form of a paid album.
I’m looking forward to sharing this collection with you all, but to be honest, I’m even more excited to have you all criticize me, and make me feel like a worthless nobody because of the albums I missed. So, be sure to toss in some offensive comments below!
Let’s get right in to it…
