Albums | Young Money Yawn – Lost Scriptures (Mixtapes)
Posted by admin on March 4, 2014
The DMV has made quite a statement recently with new talent springing up right and left. The influx of new musicians to watch certainly doesn’t stop with Young Money Yawn. The 20 year old emcee takes on a more “street” side of Virginia, and speaks about his come up over a variety of different production styles.
Those who follow the DMV hip-hop scene closely might recognize the Board of Administration’s, Black Cobaine feature, amongst others. The tape is packed with eighteen original songs as well as a few bonus tracks, and aside from the speaking interludes getting a bit repetitive, the project is a very strong body of work. Stream and download in its entirety below!
Electro | DJ Dan & WhiteNoize – Engine No. 9
Posted by admin on March 4, 2014

After making some serious noize (pun very much intended) and sneaking its way in to Beatport’s Top 100, I figured it was only right that I share with you all DJ Dan & WhiteNoize’s new material, “Engine No. 9”. The funky house song features samples from Black Sheep and combines them flawlessly with the slaps of a modern dance record.
“Engine No. 9” was released through Instereo Recordings and is available for purchase, here! The WhiteNoize duo is showing no signs of slowing down, so stay tuned for new music coming very soon.
Hip-Hop, Rap | Richy Marciano – WZUP
Posted by admin on February 26, 2014
Making his Fresh New Tracks debut, Richy Marciano, holds nothing back on the new single and video “WZUP”. The Detroit native pours all of his energy and city-spirit in to all of his music, and “WZUP” is no exception. Marciano is still riding out the success of his 2013 project Emphasis on My City, with this being the second video released from the body of work.
Marciano is currently working on his follow-up tape, but if you missed the first, be sure to give it a download here.
Hip-Hop, Interviews | Drop City Yacht Club (Interview & New Single)

Enjoy the below interview and hit play on Drop City Yacht Club’s new single “No Better” featuring Jonn Hart!
By Annie Dineen
Somewhere at the intersection of T-birds and subway cars, sand and flannel, and palm trees and boom boxes is Drop City Yacht Club. The California-based group’s hooks are uptempo pop while verses draw you in lyrically. Their breakout hit “Crickets,” for instance, regales the plight of being rejected. “ I got turned down 7 times tonight,” DCYC’s A. Wolf says at DC’s 9:30 Club on the opening night of their tour with Goodie Mob. They tell me their breakout track “Crickets” is not only about being dissed by a girl but also the frustrations with rejection they had all experienced as solo artists in the music industry.
Hip-Hop, Rap | YoAstrum – Heav3n
Posted by admin on February 25, 2014

As the line between house music and hip-hop grows ever-closer, YoAstrum once again finds himself nicely situated between both worlds. His latest song, “Heav3n”, is a mere two-minutes long and features an instrumental canvas laid out by Mr. Carmack, and Tk Kayembe. The song is both catchy and unique, a perfect combination for your Tuesday night.
We’ve seen two stellar singles from YoAstrum these past few weeks, so hopefully a full length project is imminent. Stay up.
Freestyle, Hip-Hop, Rap | Vonny del Fresco – Studies
Posted by admin on February 19, 2014
Vonny del Fresco is fresh off the release of his After the Fall EP and decided to keep his fans on their toes with a short burst of music. “Studies” is a minute long freestyle/video that oozes energy and takes you on an robotic-sounding ride. The song was originally produced by Mr. Carmack, a name that is becoming increasingly popular in hip-hop production, and del Fresco decided to give the new-school production wave a spin with some sharp rhymes penetrating the already complex instrumental.

So, it’s Saturday night the day after your inevitable Valentine’s Day let-down.
