Drum & Bass | DnB….Sundays?
Posted by Sev on July 9, 2012
Sorry for another delay in the DnB post this week, but you know what summer does to you. What is this, a release from Skrillex? Say it isn’t so. Let the haters hate, but you can’t deny the talent and ingenuity. Releasing Birdy Nam Nam’s EP on July 17th through OWLSA, rumor has it that this heavy DnB remix will be accompanied by Skrillex’s trapt out remix as well. The second drop on this remix is disgusting to say the least.
Top producers Loadstar have just released their EP Passenger / Bomber including a dubstep remix to Passenger by Culprate. I have been waiting for this release for some time now. In Passenger , we see some more aggresive synths used, compared to in Bomber. Also Passenger is leaning more towards a drumstep style track as well. Both tracks are outstanding in their unique styles.
Who doesn’t love a good VIP remix to a track? Mach was quick on catching this VIP when it went up on Soundcloud. TC revamping his well known track Bass By The Tonne and dosing up the DnB on this one. Still keeping the main part of the originals is what lured me into liking it so much.
Dieselboy continuing his giveaway of DnB tracks this week with one from a few years back. It is a remix provided by Gridlock, but as long as it is good and hasn’t been heard by too many people who cares how long ago it was released. Nice weekend vibes from this track.
To cap it all off we have a nice smooth liquid drum and bass track from Cray and nExow. Those graceful instruments combined with the quick pace of DnB always provide the best state of euphoria.
Dubstep | AFK – Ripper [The Frim + AFK VIP]
Posted by Sev on July 5, 2012
Rising artist The Frim has teamed up with the heavy hitting AFK to recreate a VIP to a fan favorite track from AFK, Ripper. If you have seen any of Datsik’s recent shows then you have heard some of The Frim’s latest tracks that should be releasing on Firepower Records soon. Although he is more of a low key artist, the tracks that he produces are monstrous. Of couse AFK needs no introduction, because he has been destroying stages for a few years now. It is crazy that Rusko still drop’s the original at his shows even though it has been out for almost a year now. This remix is more of a modernization of the original, because throughout the original we saw the “Yoi” synth that was such a hit a few months ago, but now the guys have revamped the synths and the arrangement to create this epic VIP.
Dubstep | Enigma Dubz – Making All These Moves Ft. Katie McCloud (Original Mix)

This release has officially won me over today. The SKisM and DC Breaks collab was a great way to start the day, but ENiGMA Dubz has absolutely crushed them with this single track from his album. Releasing his album “Genesis” today, this Birmingham native has been creating some of the most unique styled tracks I have seen from any artist as of late. Known for tracks that range from Dub/Reggae, to Dubstep, to Hip-Hop, to Garage; it seems as there are no boundaries for him. His intentions were clear on this track, and they were to crush any crowd that hears this heavy, aggressive original featuring Katie McCloud on the vocals. The whole album is an amazing masterpiece, but this track stood out to me the most. Check out the album on Beatport HERE along with Making All These Moves HERE.

Dubstep | SKisM & DC Breaks – Killer (Ft. Dee Freer)
Posted by Sev on July 2, 2012
SKisM is back at it again, this time with a collaboration with DC Breaks entitled Killer. After releasing an amazing track on the “Never Say Die Compilation” he is back at work for his label starting a series of releases for the next 6 month that is going to go a little something like this.
“Never Say Die presents SKisM – ‘The Division Series’.
PART 1: SKisM’ & DC Breaks’ ‘Killer’, featuring Dee Freer on vocals released 16th July with remixes from Tantrum Desire and Crush.
The series will be delivered in the form of 4 parts; each part consisting of an original with remix to be released over the next 6 months. Future collaborations will be with Zomboy, with remixes from Tantrum Desire, xKore, TC and Dirtyloud.
To accompany each release, there will be a 20 min DJ mix from SKisM that will fit together as one mammoth 80 minute mix at the end of the series.”
Of course this track is another heavy hitting, monstrous mix that we see SKisM providing time and time again with DC Breaks sprinkling some of their flavor throughout as well. Get your free download of the radio mix version of the track through the UKF youtube channel.
Moombahton | D!RTY AUD!O x Aylen feat. Jitta On The Track – Different Cities (Original Mix)
Posted by Sev on June 29, 2012
Two of my favorite upcoming Moombahton artist have collaborated on what seems to be this summers Moombah anthem for me. Also featuring an upcoming vocalist/artist as well, named Jitta On The Track, who just finished opening on tour for Waka Flocka and Drake. This track has it all for me; appealing vocals, heavy bass, good melody, and a unique drop. The track starts off with a nice popping synth and melody that slowly progresses into some dope lyrics by Jitta, which sets it all up for the bass filled drop. Show these guys some support and like their pages below.
Dubstep | KOAN Sound-Funk Blaster (Culprate remix) & Loadstar-Passenger (Culprate Remix)[Prev]
Posted by Sev on June 28, 2012
Culprate is destroying the scene right now with his unique style of glich and dubstep blended together. First we have a preview of one of his upcoming releases that went up on UKF yesterday. Absolutely smashing remix to Loadstar’s DnB tune Passenger that was also uploaded to the UKFDrum&Bass channel a few weeks ago. I think the original DnB tune maybe a little heavier, but I’m torn between which one I like more. Either way Culprate is tearing his remixes apart, which leads us to his next massive freebie that was given away today. His remix to KOAN Sound’s Funk Blaster, which has been a highlight to many artist sets. You should know what to expect by now; it’s that glich-step style from Cuplrate with some funk provided by KOAN. Also as a heads, be on the lookout for Culprate’s remix of Skrillex’s Make It Bun Dem which has been recorded at a few live shows and should be surfacing soon.
Dubstep | R Rated #35
Posted by Sev on June 28, 2012
First of all thank you to the gorgeous Sydney Barlette, for these amazing photos. I think we can now say that R Rated is finally complete. There has been a good amount of releases this week so get ready to have you ears blown out like you do every week. First up we have the amazing Noisia bringing one of the darkest, dirtiest tracks of the week to us for FREE! Being called upon to write the theme for the new Devil May Cry game and given almost no boundaries they went for a home run on this one.
Mach and I have always been big fans of Butch Clancy dating back to some of his earlier releases when we first heard about him. It is nice to finally see him being signed to a label as well as gaining the recognition he deserves for his work. He brings a different style that is much more simplistic, but that is perfect enough to lure you into listening to it over and over again. There aren’t any crazy sounding drops, bust just nice and heavy wobbles and melodies with the right amount of bass.
This next one by Skit has the reggae vibes fuzed with the dubstep we all love so much. This style kind of reminds me of what Kill The Noise has been producing lately, mixed with some Grand Theft Auto 3 Jah Radio melodies. Whatever you want to call it, I’m a big fan and always will be.
Liquid Stranger deciding it was a call for celebration when hitting a 100k fans on Facebook this week. The choice of gift was one of his upcoming tracks titled Mechanical Stuff. The title says it best on this one, almost creating a combination of Downlink and Excisions styles back in the day.
Read on to listen to the top upcoming releases.
