Progressive House | Arias – Deepfield
Posted by Middy on June 7, 2014
It is remarkable what Arias has been able to put together in these past two years. Tunes like “Majoris”, “Andromeda” and “Solar” are all one of a kind incredible and you can add his first single of 2014, “Deepfield” to that mix as well. The first vocal track from the Parian in a MINUTE, Arias brings that signature big progressive sound that s found in so few records today. Even bigger for Arias is his record on Size Records, “Footsteps” with Greg Ceronne, which Steve Angello has been playing heavily ever since Ultra. Watch out for the renaissance of Arias.

Posted by Middy on June 5, 2014
Straight off of the shelves at Nude Disco Recordings (great name right?), we have the premiere of Ben Macklin’s summery remix of “Catch”. Seeping in 80s synth pop magic, bringing together Jane Elizabeth Hanley’s vocals and Kill me Softly’s fluttering chords, Ben Macklin steps in to give the tune a modern flavor, while still making it applicable your neon jumpsuit wearing, mullet sporting distant cousin. Set for release on June 16th, stream this bad boy right here until it hits stores and feel the 80s spirit wash over you.
Progressive House | SHM + Laidback Luke – Leave The World Behind (Outmode Bootleg)
Posted by Middy on June 1, 2014
Promising young Gotherberg duo, Outmode have released their remix of the quintessential late 2000’s prog tune LTWB. A robust and bouncy remix, Outmode add their own unique spin on the tune that takes a more groove oriented approach, while still much of the original genius shine through. Similar “Freak Me Out”, their latest single which was championed by Kryder, they draw from their “quality house” sound, adding very promising Swedish faces to the genre their country helped pioneer.
Despite being only 19 years of age, they show maturity in their productions beyond their years and a diversity in sound that is rare for producers their age. It’s not a matter of if, but when these guys break out on the international stage. Now is the time to say you were there when it all began.

Progressive House | DubVision – Hollow
Posted by Middy on May 31, 2014
DubVision don’t make bad singles. “All By Myself“, “Redux“, “Rifler” are all dynamite. They get held down by others when they do collabs, which is pretty sad. “Hollow” is their latest smash single, out just in time to soar across a festival field near you with their anthemic melodies and soaring male vocals.

Events | Electric Zoo Announces Phase 2 Lineup
Posted by Middy on May 28, 2014
Phase 1 brought headliners like Kaskade, Alesso, Armin van Buuren, Sasha and Jack U to Randall’s Island over Labor Day weekend, but now Phase 2 adds another 60 names to the mix to help fill out the increasingly stacked lineup for Electric Zoo this year. It has been well-documented the increased security measures that E Zoo will have this year, shortening the festival by two hours and adding a lot more on site law enforcement and medical personnel among others. Hopefully though, we will be able to focus on the music and not on all of the headline grabbing things that have beleaguered electronic music this time around, so be smart and read on for the lineup additions which includes names like Jamie XX, Ame, Audien, What So Not and many more. Go on grab tickets, including single day passes if you fancy one day more then the rest.
