House, Mainstream Remix | The Cataracs – All You (Dstar & Benzi Remix)
Posted by Jess on August 15, 2012
“All You” by The Cataracs is an odd track mostly because of the unnecessary addition of Waka Flocka Flame to it. It is clear that the strengths of the song lay in the choppy saxophone and 808s combined with the amazing voice of Becky Jean Williams on the hook. On Dstar and Benzi’s remix of the track, the two play to the strengths of the original with their straightforward club version of the track. The two highlight the amazing hook and cut down Waka’s part to just a few shouts over blazing synths and bass. Download the track for free below and become a fan of Dstar on Facebook.
Hip-Hop | KiD CuDi – Just What Iam ft. King Chip
Posted by Jess on August 15, 2012
Kid Cudi’s long awaited followup to Man On The Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager is soon to be here. The upcoming album entitled Indicud will see Cudi return to his rapping ways and Cudi is not shy about giving it high expectations, dubbing the album as his version of The Chronic 2001. The first leak off the project is “Just What Iam” and features longtime collaborator King Chip (formerly Chip Tha Ripper). If you were slightly disappointed by Cudi’s WZRD project, you will be glad to hear him back to his old self.
Dubstep | Feature Cuts – Decisions
Posted by Jess on August 12, 2012
It has been about a month since we last heard something new from Feature Cuts, the quickly rising Dubstep producer based out of Houston. Today, he breaks the month long silence with a brand new release entitled “Decisions”. This latest single starts off of smooth and builds up to the heavy drop that he is known for. Read what Feature Cuts had to say about the track and download it for free below.
“I’m definitely in the midst of developing my own style. I have been ever since the beginning. It’s been a battle, is a battle, and will be a battle. I’ve entitled this release “Decisions,” to evoke the journey thus far in an audible format. Decisions are the hardest thing to make, yet they’re such an important part of our lives. For the things that I cannot put into words, I have music act as my spokesperson.” – Feature Cuts
Mashups | King Fantastic x Skrillex – Hollyrock Jam Session (Troublemaker Edit)
Posted by Jess on August 12, 2012
Although, it is unfortunate that Killer Reese One, one half of King Fantastic, was recently sentenced to four years in state prison (will be released in 22 months), it isn’t stopping Troublemaker from continuing King Fantastic. You can expect a new remix EP for their recently released SocioPoliticalPimpTalk EP, as well as a new mixtape, singles, and videos coming soon. In the meantime, check out this sick edit of King Fantastic’s track “Hollywood Jam Session” that Troublemaker laced with Skrillex’s “Trung” instrumental.
Trap | Silver Medallion – Stay Young (Udachi Remix)
Posted by Jess on August 9, 2012
Someone in the chatbox asked for more Trap music, so I’m going to deliver. Although, I’m not the biggest fan of the genre, it is growing on me and I have Udachi to thank for that. His Trap remix of Nero’s “Reaching Out” is a monster track and his remix of Silver Medallion’s “Stay Young” is no different as he flips it into a trapped out summer jam. His remix is one of two remixes available on Silver Medallion’s Stay Young EP out now on Beatport.
Tonight at The Box in New York City, Get Right Records & Moodswing360 will be hosting the Single Release Party for “Stay Young”, which will include performances from Silver Medallion, Benzi and DJ Dstar. If you are interested in attending, get your tickets now here and check out the flier for the event after the jump.

It was only a matter of time before Styles&Complete got on the Trap tip and as expected they do it well. The bootleg also features the old school original sample from Uncle Luke’s “I Wanna Rock/Doo Doo Brown”. Download it for free below.
