Hip-Hop | Drake ft. Lil Wayne- HYFR (Video)
Posted by A on April 6, 2012
Toronto’s Very Own, Drizzy Drake rogers drops the highly anticipated visuals to his next single, “HYFR” off his platinum selling “Take Care” that dropped earlier this year. Set in a Jewish temple, Drake creates a bar mitzvah scenario, and all the homies are invited. Wayne is slumped in a chair white an Odd Future knock off panda-themed ski mask, Birdman is in his usual blood attire, and DJ Khaled looks confused as always. While Drake has traditionally struggled with making a music video, this one is perhaps his most light-hearted, showing a less serious side of the twenty-five year old man sitting on 25 mill. L’chaim!
Review | Maxim Bady On… Kanye West’s “Theraflu”
Posted by A on April 6, 2012
“I like Peta. I like Kanye West. I like Kim Kardashian’s… a**. I like Youtube. I like Wiz Khalifa. Everything I like in the same song! Dis is my song!
This is what I’m talking about. Finally, somebody makes a review that accurately represents the way I feel about Kanye’s new music. He’s aiming for the head right now and not missing. Not even DJ Khaled, who does absolutely nothing but put his name on the song, could ruin “Theraflu” with his yelling. Kanye can’t be stopped right now. He’s easily the best hip-hop artist in the world. Who else would come out and admit they fell in love with Kim Kardashian? Who else could have Kris Humpries dropped from the team? Kanye West, that’s who. Maxim Bady loves this song in 10,000 different ways. Swag him out.
Hip-Hop | Lil’ Debbie ft. Riff Raff- Squirt (Video)
Posted by A on April 6, 2012
“I beg your pardon, Olive Garden Aston Martin.” -Riff Raff
Rap game’s Ace Ventura is back at it again, and this time he’s recruited Lil’ Debbie, formerly of Kreayshawn’s “White Girl Mob” to create a track dedicated to a certain unmentionable. Just a few weeks ago, Riff Raff announced that he would be doing an album with Diplo. While details are foggy, the project is said to be composed of 20 tracks and features Diplo rapping as well. Whether or not the project materializes, Riff Raff is easily the most compelling personality in hip-hop to date with his irreverent approach to hip-hop’s grand cathedral. If you missed Riff Raff’s interview with Fader magazine, read it here. Leave your best “rap game…” nom de plume in the comments below.
House | Flight Facilities ft. Jess- Foreign Language
Posted by A on April 6, 2012
Enigmatic Sydney production duo Flight Facilities recently yreleased their new “Foreign Language” single featuring Jess Higgs. Perhaps best described as nu-disco, Flight Facilities have made notable waves in the blogosphere as of late with sultry songs like “Crave You” that capture a nostalgic 70’s glamour conspicuously absent from the mainstream. Put on your finest flared jeans, wide collared shirts, and platform boots because Flight Facilities will undoubtedly make you shake that groove thing. Disco has been revived in the form of Flight Facilities. Stream the track below.
Hip-Hop | Kanye West ft. DJ Khaled & DJ Pharris – Theraflu

“The whole industry wanna f*ck yo ole chick. only n*cca i got respect for is wiiiiiiz. And I admit, I fell in love with Kiiiim bout the same time she fell in love with hiiii. Well thats cool, babygirl do ya thiiiiing. Lucky I ain’t have Jay drop him from the teeeam.”
When Kanye West fires shots the whole world listens, as evidenced by a seemingly random track just premiered by Funk Master Flex that touches on Kim Kardashian, Kris Humphries, Wiz Khalifa, and Amber Rose. Kanye is aiming for the head, and he’s not missing right now. G.O.O.D. Music’s forthcoming single, “Mercy” featuring 2-Chainz, Big Sean, and Pusha T is dropping on Friday.
Update: Track has been taken down across the board by UMG.
FYI | The Way I See It… Mac Miller On That White Lady
Posted by A on April 4, 2012
Let me preface this by saying if Mac Miller is your role model, you should likely set your sights higher. Artists are people too. They’re inevitably going to make mistakes. Fans often exalt artists on a moral pedestal, creating a misguided but well intentioned belief that their favorite artist can do no wrong. Whether he accepts it or not, Mac Miller is a role model to many. I can’t imagine how many flat-brimmed wearing kids out there look up to him. Understandably, he’s trying to do damage control by denying the allegations. I don’t blame him. His handlers are probably going on PR blitz as we speak.
Frankly, there’s no way to prove whether or not he’s under the influence of narcotics. All we have to go on is a video. It’s hardly any evidence at all, and Mac Miller knows that. He’ll sweep this under the rug and dismiss it on Twitter like it’s nothing. Fans will jump to his defense and another scandal will break by tomorrow erasing all memory of this video entirely #problemsolved. Let this be a lesson to those who put their trust in an artist’s hands. Don’t make an artist your role model, they’ll only disappoint you. Rich Mayo once said, “You’ve got to be careful whom you pattern yourself after because you’re likely to become just like them.” Go back and re-read that. Free Jewelry.
