FNT: Razz, how do you start your day?
I usually wake up and check my emails, eat breakfast, and then go to the gym.
FNT: Tell us about the moment you realized you wanted to be an artist.
I’ve been playing the guitar, drums, and piano since I was about 7 years old, so I’ve always been musically inclined. I didn’t really know that I wanted to be an artist until I was a21. When I got to college I became fascinated with electronic music and became obsessed with production and sound engineering. I was very focused on my school work as well so I didn’t know how serious it would get. By my senior year of college I started to gain some traction with remixes and realized that this is what I was going to go for.
FNT: That’s awesome. You’re originally from New York, and recently released your “Overthinking” single featuring Aviella. Tell us about how the collaboration came about.
One of my good friends who is also a DJ/Producer, Lzrd, introduced me to Aviella. I have a bunch of tracks in the pipeline that I am shopping around to vocalists so I sent her one that I’ve been waiting to put out for a while. As soon as she sent me back the demo I knew it was the perfect fit for the track.
FNT: No doubt. When you’re not making music, what artists are you listening to and inspired by?
I am inspired by a variety of different artists/genres. Meek Mill, Blink-182, Illenium, Jenaux, Martin Garrix, Hotel Garuda. I also listen to a lot of my friends who are DJ / producers. We recently started a channel called NIGHT DRIVE which has a bunch of really dope up and coming talented artists.
FNT: Is there a song, other than your own, that you know all the words to?
Meek Mill – Monster
FNT: Meek Mill is never a bad choice. What do you want the world to know about Razz?
I want people to know that I am a true artist and songwriter. I plan to collaborate with a lot of vocalists and instrumentalists, and that the music I am writing now will keep evolving and keep changing.
Here at FreshNewTracks.com, we like to end our interviews with a lightening round. You ready?
