Genre-blending producer Tones unveils groovy tech-house single “Maniac”

Posted by on May 4, 2023

Since releasing his first official single in 2022, genre-blending dance producer Tones is on track to take over the world.

Having already performed around the globe in cities such as Las Vegas and Dubai, performed at Goldrush Music Festival, and shared stages with electronic music heavyweights such as GTA and Party Favor, the Arizona-based, multi-faceted artist is on a trajectory to playing international mainstages.

Tones’ ambition knows no bounds. As an entrepreneur, mental-health advocate, and dynamic DJ/producer, the artist makes an impact in every facet of his life – whether it be by serving on the Mental Health Advisory Board of Directors at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, or shiting over to his nighttime passion by playing rowdy, club-igniting DJ sets.

Now, Tones releases “Maniac,” an incendiary club thrillride that doubles as manifestation. Tones’ was initially inspired to produce after attending his first-ever festival and witnessing the contagious energy of dance music –  “Maniac” is the ultimate product of that awakening. Designed to one day be played out by the producer at a music festival mainstage, “Maniac” appropriately captures that raucous, festival energy with its expertly crafted, heart-stopping drops, intoxicating sound design, and propulsive, dance-fueled beat making.

Maniac” kicks off with a hypnotizing four-on-the-floor beat, fleshing out the instrumental by slowly incorporating house high-hats, rising synths, and infectious backing vocal samples. The track then builds with a harrowing vocal flip underlying potent orchestral hits, thumping kick drums, and pitched down vocals repeating the song’s central conceit: “I’m a maniac.”

Maniac” then subsumes into its cracking, tech-house drop replete with groovy basslines and blazing, syncopated synth leads. Pulsating, catchy, and imminently danceable, “Maniac” perfectly encapsulates Tones’ intuitive production skillset and portends a bright future on electronic music mainstages for years to come.

Fans can see Tones play out “Maniac” at EDC Las Vegas next month and on the legendary Groove Cruise Miami next January for the festival’s 20th anniversary edition.
