Electro-House, Events, Exclusive | Knife Party – LRAD (Walden Bootleg) [FNT Exclusive] + Mixify Event Reminder

Knife Party - LRAD (Walden Bootleg)
In preperation for tomorrows Mixify set with Sick Individuals and Cash Cash, Walden previews an exclusive bootleg of Knife Party’s “LRAD” from their just released “Haunted House EP“. I am slowly growing on the original as it is one of the more creative takes on a rapidly growing stale sound taking over right now. Walden gives own take on the track, flipping the percussion for a more gritty electro sound, while still keeping the minimal feel and the scintillating bridge. Again, do not forget to tune in to his set tomorrow at 6pm EST with Cash Cash and Sick Individuals on Mixify. More details here. After the jump are dates for Walden on tour, so go check him out.

Electro-House | Walden – Machine Land EP

Posted by on April 29, 2013

Walden - Machine Land EP

Aussie youngster, Walden has become a hot pick lately as an up and comer with several releases thus far this year on New York based Big Beat Records and already touring stateside, playing the esteemed Ultra Music Festival. This time he returns with three new originals (one is an 2013 update) to cultivate a three track EP, exploring new sounds and styles for the burgeoning talent from down under.

The EP starts with the title track “Machine Land”, which starts immediately with an onslaught of echoing, electro beats that pound at you until the very last second of the track. It is downloadable for free for the next 48 hours below. The next two tracks continue the trend of hard hitting electro with the new original “Only Invader” that starts with an ominous build and then cascades into a fast paced, pitched synth laden drop with a growling low end and then finishes with an update of his previously free single “Mono World”, tweaking the grungy track to fit the EP. Walden has been slowly creating his niche with euphoric, big room house tracks and with this EP, he flips the script completely and shows his capacity to create hard hitting electro tracks, much like others on his label. It is an interesting direction to see him and go and it will be worth watching in the future.

Exclusive, Featured, Progressive House, Videos | Walden – Intropial (Video) [FNT Premier]

Posted by on February 12, 2013

Coming off a string of strong releases to start the year like “Intropial” and his remix The Only’s “Looking Back“, as well as a successful US tour, the Australian producer makes his next release in video form for his latest single “Intropial”. Using the same, unique animation style as his previous single “Ciaco“, this video takes us to a futuristic, Orwellian cityscape that pits a David & Goliath battle between the giant, corrupt Walden Industries who has total control over the citizens through “Identity Cubes” and the small resistance group “Intropial” led by the founder of Walden Industries’ son. It is an interesting backdrop to this great song and provides a welcome relief from the somewhat bland live footage we see in many music videos.

More exclusive info for you guys, Walden will be releasing his next EP “Machine Land” on March 11 just in time for WMC, so be on the lookout for 3 more singles from the young Australian as he continues his strong start to 2013. Also check him out tonight as part of the Mixify Rise Festival over the next 3 days that includes talents like Tritonal, Knife Party, R3hab, Arty, Deniz Koyu & Henrix. Catch Walden at tour dates below including Ultra.

Progressive House | Walden – Ciaco

Posted by on November 13, 2012

The young Australian follows the heavily supported “Warmonger” with his next single on Big Beat (see a trend with these young guys on Big Beat), “Ciaco”. It brings together soothing builds with pitched, chopped vocal bits and a fine tuned, intricately layered melody. The video represent the unleashing of Walden’s music on the universe, though it is a bit odd. Watch out for more of his releases in the future as the young Australian makes a second landing stateside next month.

House, Progressive House | Lift Off #004

Posted by on September 22, 2012

Finally, we are back with another edition of Lift Off. We have a whole host of free gems from some good up and coming producers, more than usual, as well as some recent label tracks that should be added to your collection if they haven’t already. We start off with Tom Staar & Kryder and their heavily suported remix of “Can’t Stop Me Now” from Afrojack & Shermonology. Tom Staar was responsible for the festival favorite “African Drop” remix and with the duo teaming up for a “Don’t You Worry Child” remix, keep an eye for these two.

Next up we have a remix from New York native Odmark who puts together a delectable, funky nu-disco of this solid Mr Fluff track, giving us yet another reason to love the flavor of the year in nu-disco.

Young Australian producer, Walden has become a name to watch with his “In My Mind” remix becoming a staple in many sets across the world and a plethora of other free tracks raising his artist profile. His first release on Big Beat, “Warmonger” continues his rise to success with a churning progressive house track that takes a while to build, but once it gets there, you won’t be disappointed.

Following the Vicetone remix of Sparks, FNT regular, Moore, decided to take a stab at it as well, displaying his progressive proficiency taking a more easy going, piano driven approach to the track.

Spektrem in just their 3rd release have really come together to make a gem of a track with an incredibly addictive melody with vocals that create a superb harmony with the uplifting melodies. Read on for plenty more free gems.

House, Progressive House | Grant Smillie & Walden feat. Zoë Badwi – A Million Lights (Original + Remixes)

Posted by on August 25, 2012

While Ivan Gough has become known for his work on “In My Mind”, it was time for the other half of TV Rock, Grant Smillie to get his name out there and put his stamp on a hit record in 2012 with “A Million Lights”. In an All-Australian trio of Grant Smillie, the young force, Walden and Zoe Baldwi, “A Million Lights” comes to form as a big room, progressive track meant to be played on the biggest on stages. It comes with a few remixes, one from fellow Aussie Feenixpawl who does not really change much of the track and who I feel has gotten a little lazy with his sound lately as you can hear with his remix of “Burning“, this one, and his remix of “Room For Happiness“, where they all have a very, very similar sound. DCUP puts together a more minimal remix, while Alex van Aliff puts together a techy remix that is very enjoyable, changing up the pace and giving a new sound to the track.
