Events | Mysteryland USA Announces Huge Lineup

Posted by on March 7, 2014

mysteryland lineup

ID&T’s oldest festival, Mysteryland announced last year that is would be coming to the States, after 21 years in the Netherlands and a few years in Chile. However, once SFX bought ID&T, it was only a matter of time before the move to the US happened and it appears that they are doing it right, using the hallowed grounds of Bethel Woods, where the the 1969 Woodstock festival took place, as their destination. They recently announce their lineup, bringing on a diverse cast of names from all genres.

The main stage will have your usual suspects like Kaskade, Steve Aoki, Showtek, Fedde Le Grand and Nervo, while hosting other names like Oliver Heldens, Dillon Francis and Amtrac. One of the big selling points for the festival was the Sunday School area of the festival, which will have a dominant presence with an all vinyl stage and artists like Joris Voorn, Scuba, Chris Liebing, Lee Foss, Fehrplay vs Jeremy Olander, Dubfire, Tini and many more. Other notables include, Dillstradomus, Chase & Status, Milo & Otis, with Nicky Romero hosting a Protocol Recordings themed opening party.

Part two of ticket sales start this Tuesday, March 11th at 10am EST, so set your alarms. More info can be found on their website here.

We have had them on before, LA based duo, by ways of Australia, The Stafford Duo are back with another episode of their radio show, Something Big. We have partnered with the entrepreneurial duo to present Michael Jordan’s episode of their show with German vet, Moguai on the guest mix. During his guest mix Moguai unveils the curtains on the process behind some of his most prized recent tracks, including possibly the biggest track of the year thus far “Mammoth”, his own single on Size Records “Champs”, and more. He also reveals info on collabs with Tiesto, Moby and a big pop singer in Germany that he says is one of favorites to date.

The Stafford Brothers are more than DJs / producers. They own several nightclubs back home in Australia, they have their own reality TV show, which is licensed in Australia, South America, Canada and Europe. They are the first dance music acts to be signed to Cash Money Records and their first single “Hello” has gone double platinum in Australia. We had the chance to ask ask them a few questions about their busy lives, Cash Money Records, the future and more. Interview and tracklist after the jump.

Events | TomorrowWorld Announces Its Official Arrival to the USA

Posted by on March 20, 2013

The news is somewhat tempered by leaks in the past few weeks, but the news is official — the world’s best and most unique festival is expanding to the US after 8 years in Belgium. It will make landfall in Chatahoochee Hills, Georgia, 30 miles outside of Atlanta, the location of Counterpoint Festival, for the weekend of September 27-29. This is huge news for several reasons. One, does this mean the rumored move of Counterpoint Festival to New York this year that was later refuted by Counterpoint is back on? Or will it move to another place in the US? A change in date to earlier in the summer would be difficult with the intense Georgia heat, so it remains to be seen what will happen, but either way it seems that there is no way they can both co-exist the way things are at the moment.

Also one must look at it from the perspective of ID&T, the founders of Tomorrowland, Sensation, Mysteryland, Energy and other events, and why they came to the US. One reason is $$$$$$$$$. The second is there is an enormous market that is only growing is size that wants more dance music events. Now will this make the brand of Tomorrowland less unique and special, and somehow dilute the product? I don’t think they would have expanded without knowing that any hit to the quality would then hurt the general brand. Overall, it remains to be seen how the expansion will turn out, but with a landscape similar to Boom back in Belgium, the fields of Georgia seem like the ideal place for this.

Tickets go on sale April 27th at 11am EST for US residents and May 4 at 11 EST for the rest of the world. You must pre-register to get access to these tickets and the pre-registration is open now. One rather important sticking point is that the festival is 21+ (thanks draconian US drinking laws). More info on their website.
