Progressive House | Arias & Greg Cerrone – Foot Steps

arias & greg cerrone - foot steps

What was thought to be a Size release for a long time has been released on Ultra Records. First premiered by Steve Angello at UMF, (hear that roar!) the massive “Foot Steps” from Arias and Greg Cerrone is finally here. The tune has parts from both artists, as Greg Cerrone channels the same melodic mastery he displayed on “Nightventure” and Arias adds his equally potent skills crafted melodies and layering. These foot steps are coming towards you and they are loud quite powerful.

Electro-House | Hardwell & MAKJ – Countdown

Posted by on October 8, 2013

Hardwell & MAKJ - CountdownHardwell has dominated 2013. It would be an upset if he did not win the DJ Mag popularity contest this year with his fanboys coming out in such force supporting him. His track with MAKJ “Countdown” probably should have been released for the North American festival season, since its minimal drops were perfect for the main stages that he seemed to live on, but alas the track that made its debut at UMF is here. Get ready for this to be quite popular this winter as this style of track seems to show no signs of slowing down.

Paris & Simo, Merk & Kremont - TundraAs their collaboration with 3LAU, “Escape” sits prominently at number 3 on the Beatport overall chart, Paris & Simo ride that wave of momentum into the release of another one of their highly coveted tracks, “Tundra”. First premiered by Fedde Le Grand on the MainStage at UMF, Paris & Simo team up with Italian duo Merk & Kremont to give us this bouncy track. “Tundra” combines grinding saws with a rolling bass line to give it an unmistakable groove, while still remaining tough enough for any venue. Trance | ilan Bluestone & Jerome Isma-Ae – Under My Skin

Posted by on June 24, 2013

ilan Bluestone & Jerome Isma-Ae - Under My SkinAs Anjunabeats moves on from its well-documented landmark 10th compilation released in March, first with Norin & Rad‘s “Bird Is The Word“ last week, they look to another label favorite in ilan Bluestone, who teams up with Jerome Isma-Ae to give us the hauntingly beautiful “Under My Skin“. First capturing the imagination of trance fans in Miami as the most saught after ID in Above & Beyond‘s UMF set, “Under My Skin” combines soothing, emotive strings and piano, with a pulsing, yet melodic synth driven drop, that makes this one of the standout releases on Above & Beyond’s label thus far this year. ilan Bluestone has been a steady riser on scene in the past year or two with a bevy or remixes and originals on Anjunabeats and Armada, including his heavily supported remix for BT‘s “Skylarking“, while Jerome Isma-Ae has long cemented himself as one of the stable forces in trance and progressive. This is a dynamite release from Anjunabeats so do not skip this one.

DJ-Set, Progressive House | Avicii – Promo Mix 2013

Posted by on April 10, 2013

Avicii Ultra 2013
On the heels of his very controversial Ultra MainStage set where he premiered a lot of the new material from his new album and there was a kazoo, Avicii gives us a further glimpse into the future with this hour long promo mix that features several of those aforementioned country-house tracks. He starts in the mix with some upcoming more traditional Avicii tracks, including the massive collab between him and Lana del Ray, before launching into some of his more experimental material that put the world on notice at UMF. To be honest I was one of the people who hated on the stuff at the time because mainly I just did not know how to process what was going on and rejected it outright for the moment. But, after listening to it on some nice speakers in a calm setting, it is growing on me and I think it will grow on most Avicii fans as well because I would like to think that his fans are open minded enough to give it a second chance. Maybe that is naive, but I would like to think that is case.

Electro-House | Bingo Players – Out Of My Mind (Dada Life Remix)

Posted by on April 1, 2013

The Bingo Players are a noted quality over quantity producer duo who relentlessly crank out some of the biggest tracks each year without fail. “Out Of My Mind” was no different with their signature synth that found its way into the sets of many far and wide, including many at this past UMF. They gave the remix duties to the grounded chieftains of Dada Land, who take their sausage fattener and turn it up a notch on the hit single from the Bingo Players. Dada Life do not mess with the winning formula from the dutchmen, rather only accentuate its strengths, letting the melody shine, while adding their own powerful low end in the style of the original that makes it patently Dada Life, but also leaves the Bingo Player’s imprint known as well.
